Great Lakes Inn is in a convenient location by I 75 in Mackinac City. Close to shopping, food, attractions, ferries and water. Our room was very clean but the TV and refrigerator were smaller than most in other accommodations. The WiFi signal was slow, in room phone was outdated and the beds were not very comfortable. Except for the fireworks noise and when other guests were checking into the surrounding rooms after a long day, it was quiet. Overall, we had a pleasant few days at this motel and sightseeing the surrounding area.

Very dirty, run down, stinky, not able to use hot tub or pool pool

Not so good, bed ; hot shower was a cold shower, maybe like warm. No breakfast offered

The hotel clerk told me room number 505. I spent time driving around looking for it! Couldn’t find it so I called front desk! I was directed to the corporate call center and they gave me their number. Well she wrote it down wrong shoulda been 105!! Not good!!! Just think what would’ve happened if I came back when it was dark!

List of items to be addressed: 1)Property needs lots of maintenance as the bathroom shower knob was not working. 2) Light Bulb not working. 3) Door latch was not working to close the door. 4) Internet did not work for the 2 nights we stayed there. 5) Could not reach the front desk as it is located in the next building. 6) Remote did not work. 7) Floor Carpet was a dull black shade, and some insects were seen flying in the room. I definitely won't be staying there again. The front desk staff were polite and tried to help but the problem is with the infrastructure and facility. Only 2G internet available and that too did not connect.

By far the worse hotel room I have ever stayed in. The room stunk and it was filthy. The lock latch on the door was broken, bedding was stained, my daughter’s white socks were gray w/in minutes of walking on the floor, neither TV nor phone worked, outlets were so loose anything plugged in fell right out. The bathroom had a big spider in the corner behind the door (who had obviously taken up residence there quite some time ago based on its size and the size and its collections in the web) so clearly that space had not been cleaned, there were also crumbs of god knows what behind the bathroom door. It was so bad that my children and I couldn’t stand the thought of staying there another night so we left after one. When Expedia reached out to the hotel to request a refund for the night not spent there, they refused. I get that there are rules and restrictions re: reservations but there is no way they are not aware of the state of their establishment and it’s absolutely disgraceful that they would deny a refund to a customer who left because of the poor conditions of the room. I have been compensated at other hotels for far less disturbing concerns w/out issue. Shame on the management there for being so money hungry (I’m sure they reaped the benefit of some other poor, unknowing customer paying for the room the same night I also did) that the concerns of a customer don’t matter. I will say the two men at the front desk were very friendly at check in.

Your choice of swimming pools outdoor or indoor low water pressure and drainage was slow other then that the bed was comfortably got a real good night sleep

The Wi-Fi was non existent. When we left we found old to go container under the bed that was moldy. The sink leaked so the floor was wet by the sink all the time. The price was good and the people were nice, that was about the only thing good I can say.
