Hyatt House Fishkill-Poughkeepsie

It’s a an ok hotel. I think if I hadn’t used a free night and paid the $350 they were looking for a night I would have been more disappointed. It was clean but it’s definitely dated. We had no soap or shampoo in the shower which we didn’t know until we were showering. Breakfast was incredibly limited compared to other Hyatt breakfast that we have had but we were literally there for about 15 hours for a wedding so it worked. It was an easy to get there and it looks like it had a lot of options around it,

False advertising, the main picture of the rooms, as noted in this very review, has a kitchen, but only a small number of rooms have kitchens, and we didn't get one (very deceiving marketing practice); one of the big reasons for picking this hotel, was it had a hot tub, but during out two-day stay, it was our-of-order! The breakfast was subpar when compared to other hotels with similar style breakfast. And the room itself was filth and aged, not a good combo

I had a great stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and larger than expected. The staff was also nice and accommodating.

Our check-in experience was dismal: the gum chewing young lady said, at first, that they had to see if the water was running clear in the unit -- a fire safety check had required shutting the water input, and water on restart had been running rusty. Someone had to check the room (the glass shower doors would be very wet on arrival). We waited. Next, the software would not generate two room keycards, so we had to sit down in the lobby while she called the manager to see how we could get two keys. Meanwhile, another couple were checked in -- with two keys -- with no delay. We finally got our two keys, maybe 20 minutes after we first came to the desk. In the spacious room there was a $5 plastic bottle of water -- so considerate of management! Bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. Bar in the lobby -- open beginning 5 pm -- had fewer options than my home liquor cabinet. Free breakfast was just OK -- including hard-boiled eggs, instead of just scrambled. No cut fruit, and only a big tub of sweet vanilla yogurt -- no individual yogurts. No gluten-free bread, so I was glad I had two KIND bars. Interesting choice of utensils: metal knives and forks, along with only small plastic spoons. I'd look around the area for a room on our next trip.

Breakfast was terrific w a hot buffet! Front desk was wonderful, cheerful and helpful! Great place to gather for a wedding because of the lobby and breakfast area.

The bedframe was stained with cleaner and not appealing. Blind needed repair. Bathroom floor needed some grout for some tiles!
