Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa

Stayed in the garden view room overnight and this was the second time we stayed there. We were married there in 1994 and the wedding there was fantastic! I remember our room was furnished in period pieces and was overlooking the gorge. Our garden room furnishings were, well, cheap looking. Also noticed a slight dog smell in the room. The grounds are still beautiful and the breakfast and staff were fantastic. Still a great place to stay. Maybe the river view rooms furniture is truer to the grand hotel style as It was back then. We would stay there again for sure.

Breakfast was great! Staff was very attentive and friendly. The grounds are maintained well. Overall had a pleasant experience and would return again.

We stayed in a garden view room on the second floor, which was nice, but the furnishings were really not nice as what you would expect for a grand hotel. A bit on the cheap side and dated.

What a lovely place, everything was lovely, the gardens, the outdoor lounge with the view, the room. The staff was friendly and professional from the receptionist to the waitress in the lounge. We really had a wonderful time.

Lovely historic hotel. Rooms are large and comfy. Huge bathtub for relaxing soak. Grounds are well designed and maintained- flowers, trees, paths , fountain and waterfall

Lovely and elegant hotel in a lovely location overlooking the Columbia River. We spent only one night because we were passing through but we could easily have enjoyed more nights there. We found dinner in downtown Hood River because we wanted to visit town and because the hotel restaurant was a bit pricey, so we cannot comment on it otherwise, except to note that it was very busy. The grounds were were beautiful with ducks walking about. There is a gorgeous waterfall behind the property that goes into the river.

Rude staff. Witnessed staff treating patrons unkindly and creating an unnecessary scene. Could have handled things better and left an unpleasant impression on us. Very disappointing.

Beautiful hotel and a clean albeit small room (Riverside king). Reception upon arrival could have been more helpful. We arrived early which we had noted in our reservation. The room was not ready but neither did we expect it to be. The receptionist seemed upset that we were there to check in. She eventually told us she would call us when the room was ready. She did not. Check out was a similar experience - no interest from the same receptionist. Evening reception was guest-friendly, kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant was delicious and the service was great. The grounds are beautiful and well worth a walk through. The piano bar is a trip back in time.
