The Hoban Hotel Killkenny

Lovely place to stay in Kilkenny. Food was Devine and host Johnny was extremely friendly. Highly recommend to dine or stay here.

The stay was very enjoyable. Not only is the countryside beautiful, the people we have been blessed to meet, are very nice. Our stay at the Hobin was met with an amazing staff. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Dez was a pleasure to talk to as was everyone else. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

Clean and fairly modern hotel with a restaurant and bar area. The (included) breakfast is buffet style and ends at 10. The bathroom was accessible with a unique shower I’ve never seen before. The only downside is that it is not within walking distance of Kilkenny (you will need a cab which will cost 12-15 Euros each way).

I stayed here for just one night, but it was a truly pleasant experience. The room was spacious and the hotel overall felt clean, polished, and well-maintained. The staff were exceptionally helpful throughout my stay. Savio at the front desk made check-in smooth and welcoming with his professional and friendly demeanor. Dez at the restaurant stood out as well — attentive, personable, and genuinely warm. All in all, outstanding hospitality that made a brief stay feel special.

My stay at this hotel was truly delightful. The room was fantastic—exceptionally spacious, featuring a huge, comfortable bed, and perfectly soundproofed, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. I chose to eat at the hotel restaurant every evening, and the familiar faces of the staff created a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. Dez, one of the waiters, truly stood out. His attentiveness was remarkable; he made engaging conversation, ensured I had the same table each night, and consistently brought my usual beer promptly, often before I even had to ask. His proactive service was greatly appreciated. The meals were consistently delicious and satisfyingly hearty, and the beer selection was excellent. This hotel, and its staff—especially the outstanding Dez—deserve high praise for their top-tier service.

Food was delicious as always. Great service and the staff especially Dez is very welcoming and friendly, always up for a quick chat.

Really friendly waiter called Dez, who went out his way to get us all fed, even though in one instance the kitchen was just about to close. Nice hotel, clean and modern, easy check in.
