An highly overrated resort with zero or minimal service where you are treated as an liability than a guest , with staff treating as you are some trespasser wasting their time
We had booked for premium villa and taken an offer for room upgrade to indulgence pool villa , we had already paid for room only upgrade had to be paid ,during check in , I told them that I will clear all my bills during checkout but was rudely told to settle room bills , come on I have paid so much already , and u have my credit card details and my one crore car is in your possession ( valet parking ) , u think I will run away without settling my bills , anyway paid it ,
Room was not ready so went to restaurant for lunch , sala de pranzo, took Buffet and it was horrible , who serves chicken peri peri as starters ??? Spread was mediocre, so was taste , no local foods were there, pasta and spaghetti were under cooked , desserts had no soul , soups were bland ( 3 star hotels serve better buffet ) staff were inadequate and they treated as if we had come for free food , attitude is horrible , taj has lost its warmth to be replaced by corporate mind set and attitude , room was good but ageing showing ( toilet lock wasn’t working) amenities were ok ( coffee machine was leaking ) on arrival there was a cake and fruit bowl, that’s it , we stayed for 5 days and nothing else afterwards, why is that most hotels give you bowl of fruits and cake only on day of arrival ?? Don’t we pay the same for everyday, why can’t everyday be made special ?(evolve back and serai does that and they even pack fruits and sandwiches for on road travel )We had come for wedding anniversary and intimated the same , no courtesy cake ( maybe we need to pay for that too ) , bath salts provided only twice ( again cost cutting ) , resort property is good , really good , swimming pool is huge and amazing , we had dinner at Miguel arcanzo restaurant, it was disappointing, no veggie option at all literally, breakfast was disappointing, same food were repeated daily and no local flavour and nothing to harp on food ( limited items in live counter ) again staff were arrogant and bringing a coffee to table , they acted as if they were doing a favour , no smile in cooks face , was I paying 60k/ day for this attitude ??? ,
Checkout was horrible, had already paid for room and upgrade too , only activity and food bills were supposed to be settled , bill was posted at my door and it showed that upgrade bill was yet to be paid , took 30 mins to solve it , during checkout, no bye , no token gifts , no interaction , it was like being in airport , taj is loosing its warmth and it’s time i check else where from next time where you are treated as guest and not as trespassers
