Royal Thurso Hotel

Again I had to stay at this hotel for business purposes. So short staffed and some rooms not even cleaned or prepared! Staff are nice enough but rushed off there feet doing 2 or 3 times the jobs they should be doing. Often no one at reception as I guess there having to do other things. Room is very out dated and not the cleanest. Beds are brick hard and tv so small. Stains on walls and holes and quite dusty. Cobwebs on ceiling. Kettle takea about a week to boil and you don't even get a spoon to stir you rea or coffee ita those little sticks not good. Pillows are flimsy and not comfortable to lie on. Towels in my room had stains on them so had to ask for a change of towels. Food was ok for dinner but breakfast is horrible. Cars going round and round at night wirh therr exhausts blaring it's hard to sleep. Again if it wasnt for work I would never stay at this hotel and hopefully I will never be back

Location.

Very little parking. No elevator for mobility challenged. Uneven floors. Very flat pillows. Not very hot water.

The front of the hotel is a bit off-puttin, but don't be decieved it's like a great book in a battered cover. It's an old hotel so the doors have seen better days, but the rooms were clean, beds comfortable, bathroom nice and everything you could need for your stay is there

Prima gelegen lekkere traditionele inrichting! Gewoon goed voor een nacht!

Ontbijt was tot 9 en als je dus om half 9 aanschuift is het niet heel gezellig meer want t buffet is dan zelf wel leeg met moeite kregen we wel een echt Schots ontbijt! Dat was top maar er liep een zeer ongemotiveerde dame rond die vooral interesse had voor haar telefoon die achter een barretje lag waar bij ze meermaals werd we gestuurd! Misschien niet helemaal haar ding horeca

The staff were very helpful and friendly Particularly on reception the dining room and Angus in the laundry

This is totally unsuitable for anyone who is disabled The layout is a nightmare stairs upon stairs No logic to the layout The Lift does not work and there seem to be no plans to fix it I have never in 80 years been in a worst hotel The staff are superb and the owner is very lucky to haventhem

Clean & comfortable helpful staff Great parking facility Evening meal was excellent

We had to use the bar due to having a dog with us (not an issue) however they didn’t have any white wine??!! Not even an offer to go into the restaurant to get some - very strange! No atmosphere either. Didn’t come down for breakfast as finished very early at 9am - even half an hour longer would be better for a holiday maker!
