Coningsby Inn

I had reserved an payed for 3 nights in this place (from June 25 to June 28). I'm traveling from Miami to Belize, true one scale in Houston. The flight started late form Miami, so I lost the connection to Belize, and I have to stay on Houston until June 26. The airline changes my flights for travel on June 26 to Belize and return on June 29, so I don't have to miss one day in Belize. I call to the company who sell me the package (flight + hotel) and they try to change mi reservation on Coningsby Inn. Adicionaly, the internet company offered me a free cancelation of the reserve, but I prefer to try to stay at Coningsby Inn, but they answer that they don't have accommodation for the extra night (28 to 29) for change it. I answer to the company that please confirm that I take the reserve that I have with them (from 25 to 28), telling them that I'm in Houston and will be arriving on June 26 at the hotel, and I asume that I lost 1 night on Coningsby Inn and I have to find another place for the extra night in Belize City (28 to 29). When I go into the same internet place where I had find the first time Coningsby Inn, I find that they really have 5 rooms offering for the night from 28 to 29. So, I feel very bad, because they refuse to give to me an extra night (obviously, I will pay for this new night at the hotel), telling that they no have rooms for this date (28 to 29)... but they already have many rooms according themselves! Then, I ask for the internet company that I cancelled the reserve. And Coningsby Inn punish me with paying a night for this cancelation. I think they wasn't serious and they just save the situation for them.

Booked to go on a tour and this was the starting point, the owner was awesome as she let me check in at 6:30 am and this was greatly appreciated. Tea etc was offered and also if I wanted to purchase breakfast - room was pretty basic but the water was hot and for that reason it’s 3 stars. Breakfast was ok, not value for money. Staff there that we met were so lovely and that was why I also gave it 3 stars. If you want a basic hotel that’s value for money in Belize standards with friendly staff go here.

Needed a quick accommodation due to a late arriving flight before transferring to San Pedro. The neighborhood is dark at night, but morning revealed a quaint location that was walking distance to the San Pedro Express Water Taxi. (Pay no mind to the guys on the way haggling you to try the "other service") The rooms were adequate, with a quick to chill you Air Conditioning system. Aside from the age of the place being apparent, it was well cleaned and kept after and would have been a suitable location to stay for a few days if you planned to partake in excursions from Belize City. A simple breakfast was available for purchase the next morning, as was coffee and juice. It's not fancy living, but everything you need to get by and just a quick stroll to the port. My wife and I would happily return, and plan to.

The room was not ready at check-in and instead of cleaning it herself, the manager blamed her staff for not being present and proceeded to spend the afternoon on her phone and watching Netflix until the staff arrived to clean the room. The duvet had stains and holes and the shower curtain was covered in mold. The room was quite dirty and did not look like it had been cleaned at all. I would not recommend this place at all, and as other reviewers have said, I have stayed at budget hostels, all of which were cleaner and better maintained than this.

Staying an extra night before a group tour started at this hotel. In decent condition and staff were attentive. Had wonderful home cooked breakfast and dinner if you chose to pay for it. Condition was fair but for $72 USD was a great price. Neighborhood was quiet and well lit. Felt safe walking around during day but overall Belize City is not to be walked at night. Not much in the way of locals out at night either so taxi is way to go. Enjoyed my couple of days in Belize City experiencing the "Gritty" atmosphere. Part of the real Belize instead of the expensive resorts.

Owner and staff are friendly and helpful but the maintenance needs to be improved...faucets, TV connections, etc

Very friendly staff. Not the cleanest bathroom but you get what you pay for.

Great little Inn within walking distance to loads of attractions. 5 minute walk to water taxi that takes you to various islands off the coast.

Would not stay in this hotel again and would not recommend to my worst enemy

Excellent stay comfortable and close to central area. Enjoyed my stay.
