Coningsby Inn

I like to rent a car but don't want to drive at night and don't want to drive for hours when departing so I stay one night in Belize City when I arrive and one night going. This is my choice location for my air travel days into and out of Belize.

*Summary* By any means I'm trying to be rude or give them a hard time, this is just an honest review as a tourist. Pros: •WiFi •TV •The building looks nice (only from outside though) •Kind of OK location. Cons: •Filthy and disgusting as nothing I've seen before in my life. You can tell they don't change the sheets after each customer and the bathrooms are just a nightmare. •Customer service is not friendly at all. •If they have a large group of people coming in, they will just ask you to leave BEFORE it is check-out time. •There are LARGE RATS in the kitchen, we saw them and we could hear them bumping into glasses and dishes after we turned the lights off. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not •Sometimes they provide you with towels and soap, and sometimes they just don't. •The AC in one of our rooms stopped working. •The price is too high for what they are actually giving you. The place has a lot of potential, it just needs new management ideas, getting rid of the rats and a remodeling. I will write a full review as soon as I get home.

This hotel is in a pretty nice location in town (in terms of centrally located, being quiet and feeling safe). Being able to buy breakfast there in the morning is very nice. The staff were friendly. The AC and TV worked well, but the bathtub in our room was not in very good shape.

This place was in a sketchy part of town. Even the local Nacho shop owner was concerned with us being out in tat neighbourhood after dark. The room was noisy. There was dogs barking all night. The shower needs to be fixed. There was a rust hole through the tub that fits my whole hand and the showerhead has no pressure. The staff was nice. The room had AC.

The location was great. In the downtown area but on a residential quiet street two blocks off the main street. The place could use a good cleaning, there was extensive rust in the bathroom where I refused to shower without my sandles on. Overall the budget price makes it acceptable for certaiin situations. I am a single male so walking around in the area and comfort level didnt bother me as much because I chose it for the price and location. However, I probably would choose a different place if i came with my spouse. The air conditioning was good and strong.

We liked the hotel well enough to return for a second stay. Very friendly and helpful staff (owner arranged for an early-morning taxi to the airport). Our rooms were very clean, good-sized, and the TV, Wifi, and bed were all good. Good breakfast for $5 US. Better than average coffee, but it was hazelnut or some other flavored coffee. During daylight hours, it is an easy walk to the bus station; everyone says, don't do the walk at night. It was $5 US for a taxi to the bus station.

This is a winderful older property that has been msintained nicely

Really friendly and helpful staff. We will definitely stay here again. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Located right downtown within easy walking distance to many shops, restaurants and water taxis.

Good price, good internet, good breakfasts and good AC. Nice family B and B style place.
