Hotel Koukouras

The rooms were in an awful condition. No Aircon on first night, later told you have to pay for it. The extracted fan was held to the wall with tissue paper. loose wires poking out of the wall and the grass outside our room. Bugs in the beds. The bed for the third person was basically a prison bed .I've stayed cheap before, but this is something else. The only positive was the lovely bar lady, who made a lovely daquori. We stayed one night, got a refund (not in full) and left as quick as we could. The manager was rude and when we tried to ask for a refund she changed her mind and said she was 'just a receptionist' and refused to take responsibility. There was WiFi but good luck trying to get on to it. I'm not one to leave a negative review but I've never seen a hotel so poor .

Enjoyed a week at Koukouras hotel. The pool was clean. The rooms were very clean. Easy walk to the bus. 3min walk to the sea. I would definitely book there again. A great place for a family to vacation.

“Very letdown it was our wedding in Crete no WiFi unless you sat in the reception which was never open.One morning we decided to go for breakfast .Sat down after 10 minutes manager/owner looked at us (after we,d asked about food) told breakfast is over there a miserable cold 7.00euro each breakfast.We got up and left she never even looked twice to stop us.Morning of my wedding she or he never came and never congratulated us.The TV was broken never fixed after over a week of complaining,upon leaving she let us use the room for compensation.Maids are amazing they decorated the tiny room we stayed in magnificently on our wedding eve Top Tip: “Go to hotel Rose Beautiful sea front beach with free sunbeds.The manager surprised us with free champagne on our wedding day/night. Excellent service

This hotel is in a great location with agia marina in walking distance or the option of getting a bus to it from right outside the hotel. The city of chania just a short bus ride away also collects from right outside the hotel with a fare of 1.80. The staff are all easy going and friendly both bar and hotel staff. A quiet beach right across the street and a relaxing pool on the premises. Was well looked after during my stay and felt at ease in this hotel all the while.

Evangelia, greatest host ever! Chose Koukouras Hotel following a colleague's recommendation that had visited Chania last summer and was very happy for this. At our arrival Evangelia was waiting for us, she gave us a tour and made us feel very comfortable - all we needed for the start of our holidays. Facilities were recently refurbished and very clean. Our room was very tidy, high hygiene standards achieved and as per description while making the reservation. We chose to stay at Koukouras block just next to the beach. Have to say that we picked a rainy weekend for our visit and left London back with a really sunny one - bad timing lol. Dimitris, Evangelia's husband and business partner was there daily from early in the morning and whatever information / help we needed was there to support. Evangelia was dealing with all our queries for bookings we have made car / restaurants daily escapes suggestions and arrangements. Hotel is located within a reasonable distance to the Town of Chania and there is a connection by public transport too +++ There are plenty of shops next to Koukouras hotel - supermarket, restaurants cafes & great bakeries. All in all, Chania is a great destination to the West side of Crete and Koukouras hotel guarantee an amazing experience for your short / long visit. I strongly recommend to couples / families as the block of hotels is nicely arranged to keep customers happy. I have already booked my next Chania escape and Evangelia's and Dimitris' hotel is booked as well. Thank you guys and see you soon. Greetings from London - keep doing your hard job.

The Koukouras is a delightful hotel. The owner was very helpful and kindly drove me to my friends' hotel nearby on several occasions. Spotlessly clean suite, large bedroom, comfortable bed and good qualty pillows, wardrobe and cupboard space for clothes, toiletries etc. dressing table with large miror. Spacious lounge with dining table and coffee table, well equipped kitchenette, shower room with fitted hairdryer, own patio with table and chairs. Very clean swimming pool and ample sun loungers, parasols, tables and chairs. Lots of shops and cafes nearby but quiet and peaceful at the hotel. Bus stop two minutes walk but taxis readily available at reasonable price. I can certainly recommend this hotel and will be amongst the many returning guests.
