Cambridge Bar Hill Hotel, BW Signature Collection

Reception and check in staff were lovely very friendly. Great customer service. The bar staff were not of the same standard inexperienced and not customer focused. Hotel was clean and fit for purpose.

As it is now, and taking Covid into account, it is below standard for a Best Western. Unlike many other hotels - CBHH.had no working practices in place for attending to long term guests and their room(s). Our room was not cleaned during our 13 night stay and we had to insist on the bed linen being changed - which actually broke the hotel's rule that staff could not enter a room that was in ocupancy. Changing rooms was offered but that was a No No. No system in place for changing towels - we were required to arrange with reception. No bin emptying done - we took in a large bin bag for our refuse and supplied our own bin liners as the hotel's liners were in no way suitable for purpose. We needed a walk in shower but that meant no A/C. On our return home we found a letter requesting payment for our first night's parking - which I asked the hotel to sort out.- and asked for a confirmation that this had been done - still waiting.

Horrendous experinece. Reservtion made in March 2021 for a stay on 26 june 2021. on 25th June email at 11.42 for Best wesern to check in online, another email at 14.31 CANCELLING our reservation and telling us had booked us into a hotel some 8 miles away. Not happy and emailed them to sauy so. On 26th June at 12.09after we had arrived at the alternative hotel received an email saying best Western had a cancellation (ha ha ) and we could stay there after all. Needless to say after such service we declined their offer and stayed at the alternative hotel who were very accomodating after the scandalous treatment we hd experienced for Best Western Bar hill Cambridge. In fairness this is not the level of experience we have had from other Best Western Hotels in the past this must be a rogue hotel.

This hotel is very dated and dull. I very regularly stay in hotels and for the money I payed this is by far the worst I have stayed in. Dirty, shabby and very run down.

I stayed for business, it was a lovely stay, there is a parking on-site, the check in and check out is as smooth as it be, the staff are pleasant and helpful. I will stay there in future visits.

This hotel was cheaper than usually is ,so decided to book it and was very surprised at how dated it is , I wouldn't be happy at all if I had paid full price to be honest , the rooms need a good upgrade

Still under covid rules which may be relevant. Our room was not serviced after our first night so no new teas or coffees in our room and the bed was not made. I ordered a newspaper at the evening reception only to be told they were not available the following morning. I also wanted to have some Sunday lunch but was told there were no lunches available.

Dont stay if you want hot water or to watch tv and relax. No hot water from sink in bathroom. Cleaners cleaning at 9pm to 9.45pm even after asking reception why not clean in the day like everyother hotel. Not just vaccum but bangimg doors and laughting giggling sounded like a party for the cleaners in the rooms around me. Several tv channels no signal at all this wasnt even looked at. Charged £14.00 for what was basicaly a £3.00 chicago town frozen pizza. Also do not use the adress given as this will lead you to the middle of the A14 not to the hotel. I mentioned this to reception and got told oh yeah everyone says the same (well maybe just change the instructions to the actual adress 🙄🙄🙄🙄) if this is the best that best western signature has to offer i will certainly not stay with this chain again.

Excellent friendly efficient service in both reception and restaurant Spacious comfortable room Tea coffee etc and bottles of water provided Slightly dated bathroom but very functional Would return
