I didn’t like to said is king size bed but it was double

We stayed in the junior suite (room 7). Initial glance it's a nice size nice decor, could nit really see the tv from the bed. Paintwork and doors need a makeover. Bed was OK ish. Toilet took an age to fill before you could flush it. 1 ply loo roll. Staff friendly but the guy was running between reception and the bar. It stated breakfast included but nowhere did it say continental. Coffee was awful. Just had a yogurt. Think we were the only guests as it was dead.

Room was filthy , stained mattress, dirty laundry and rubbish in hotel corridors,shower and toilet disgusting, hole in ceiling water just dripping on floor in bar spoke with manager who was shocked when I said I would like a refund as could not stay or eat in this place as no hygiene standards whatsoever

This hotel is so accommodating!!!! Stayed for one night and had the best food !!! Curry is amazing Such friendly staff and so clean rooms are lovely comfy beds Really is a little gem !!!! Thankyou Lisa sharon Sophie alishia !!!! X Will be back soon !!!

If the opposite was true of Carlsberg, possibly the worst hotel/b&b ever. The photos do this place a misjustice, it's worse and then some. Room 11 has an AC unit outside for the nearby Londis store, this operates throughout the night every 5 minutes. With the heating on full whack and no form of control, the window has to be open and the inevitable night of no sleep will ensue! Food is hard to come by, the menu is vast but options are limited to what's in the store room. On my stay, there were only 2 options of 7 or 8 for the mains. Trying to order food is the next problem, try and find a member of staff for a pint or food ordering and you'll be on a winner. Whilst we are on food, if you chose the breakfast option, be prepared for stale bread, crumpets, and croissants. Coffee is definitely not fresh either! Good luck if you want a fry up. Still, on the positive, there were drug deals going on outside, so if all else fails you could score and forget you had booked the Shurland. If you wanted to use the Spa facilities, these are out of action. The gym is chargeable at £10 per day and pleasantries are never going to happen here. If you stay in some rooms, having a shower is an issue. Might be quicker to get wet by chucking water from the sink over you. A trickle at best would summarise the water pressure and flow. I never leave reviews but feel you need warning, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Lady on reception when we checked in was very helpful. The room was VERY small - difficult to move around. We had no hot water the first morning but this was rectified during the day. Our booking included continental breakfast but we ended up only having toast after the first morning as it wasn't very nice & limited choice which was the same every day.

Very nice place relaxing

Very nice hotel for what I needed. The guy who checked me in also did the bar and cooked my evening meal, very polite chap. Room was a bit dated but clean as was the bathroom. Bed was ok but wouldn’t want to sleep in it every night. The shower could do with an update. Continental breakfast did the job. Overall I would stay again but I think this hotel has so much potential and is probably a work in progress.

The room required refurbishment, there was no blind in the bathroom over looking the high street the extractor fan was noisy and there was no hot water in the sink and the noise from the tap was not pleasant. The mattress on the bed was knackered and required replacing putting a mattress topper on does not resolve the issue. A terrible nights rest due to the poor mattress.

Visited this B & B for the weekend and I must say the room we had requires updating. The bed was awful the mattress had a mattress top cover which did not sort the problem with the worn out mattress that offered no support and had springs popping out of the sides. The room was clean but was not very welcoming the ensuite required a blind at the window as this was overlooking the high street, the sink hot water tap was like turning the radio on and we never got any hot water out of this tap, the noise from the tap and the extractor fan was like a disco. I suppose the price of the room reflected the poor quality of the room £58.
