"Malta at DB Seabanks"

6.0

We travelled as a family of six, four adults and two children ages 5 and 3. Would we return to Malta again yes but not at this hotel/resort. Amenities/Facilities/Service What we found an inconvenience to us; 1. The main bar is closed until 4pm 2. You have to purchase a €2 token for each glass to be used at the pool bar only for day drinking. You get it back at the end of your stay. 3. Resort towels cost €10 deposit each. 4. No water bottles in the room, you have a jug that you refill at the water station. 5. Only two baby changing facilities in the whole hotel located on the ground floor 6. No OUTSIDE door handle on the balcony door, if you slide the door behind you shut, start shouting or take your phone you won’t get back in. 7. Snacks are available from 4pm - 5pm 8. You are giving a pink wristband which you should be able to translate to the staff you don’t need a token to get a drink! Kids get a yellow one again same logic. 9. Kids pool is far and tiny more for small kids or babies. No flumes 10. Lack of kids entertainment throughout the day. 11. No bell boy or anyone to help with your luggage. Normally you go to reception and they take your bags to the room, it’s not that hotel. 12. Hotel has no fresh milk available. 13. No slippers or robes in the room, only those who use the spa get it. 14. No bed guards available for kids 15. The beds could be bigger there is room for two twin double beds rather than single beds pushed together. Restaurants - Breakfast is served from 7am -10/11am depending on the buffet restaurant selected. Lunch is from 12pm - 2/3pm as above. Dinner from 6pm - 9/10pm as above - The Coral and Laguna are your buffet restaurants. Levante, Salia and Oriental needs to be pre-booked they go quickly. - The food is repetitive, they try their best to offer different foods with a theme but it’s the same thing at lunch and dinner with a few dishes removed or added. - The Levante restaurant we found the best variety is different on offer. - We found that even without a pre-booking the Salia restaurant is never busy or full and the staff will make out it is and that under management you have to book. When the restaurant is half empty wouldn’t you want to have bums on seats? It’s a pizza restaurant at best. - Kids jungle restaurant with softplay and jungle animals. - As soon as you finish with your plate of food they are right on you to take your plate, take after all the table is finished. Location - Slightly out the way but we knew that coming in. - The hotel offers tours, like the ‘hop on hop off’ - You can rent a car from the hotel - The beach is outside the hotel, it’s one of the cleanest we’ve seen, recommend that. - The bus stop is located right outside the hotel. We took the 221 to take the kids to the aquarium which is 30 mins away. - The hotel has a shop on the lower ground floor it’s small but has more pool related things than anything else. - There is a Starbucks and convenience store to the right of the hotel. - To the left there is another hotel “Del Monte” which has a mini supermarket so I recommend that to cater for the British citizens. - Popeye Village is 5 mins by cab, I would recommend. It has a continuous live show throughout and engaging. Pools Unfortunately we didn’t use the three outdoor pools as it was freezing. Thankfully they have three small heated indoor pools for the kids to use which kept them occupied. As the day goes on the pools vary in temperature but still warmer than the outside ones. Atmosphere It’s not a rock concert or sporting event or a favourite show it’s just a holiday. Overall the place lacks atmosphere. For adults we are just concerned with the kids being entertained, which the hotel could do more to offer. The hotel animation crew/team could be more available to entertain kids and adults. There is a sports bar located on the lower ground floor, great to watch a game. They have big auditorium which can be used a lot better throughout the day rather than at night from 8:15 for the kids show. Kids facilities - Bowling alley - Kids club - we never used it - Kids pool - indoor and outdoor - Softplay area and jungle, a few animals - Sand football pitch - no one used it Again after a few days it’s gets boring for them. Staff Like all places there are good and bad ones. There are the ones that greet you and offer more than they need to. Then there are those that are just doing a job. The restaurant staff and chefs were great couldn’t fault them accommodating to our son’s allergies. The last two all inclusive resorts we visited in Lanzarote and Tenerife had kids entertainment throughout the day maybe because it was more kid orientated. It also didn’t need you to hire a glass or towels just state your room number and identify you by your wristband. Food in all restaurants were different and the buffet options were always different. Is the resort value for money no. A week is too much, five days would be better. Overall we were happy to get away but disappointed with this resort.

"Nice hotel"

8.0

Nice hotel with many facilities. Variety of food options available in the various restaurants located within the hotel - Mandeep (waiter) was very helpful. We met Marion (Guest Relations Manager) on our penultimate day, who asked if we had any suggestions or recommendations. This is good to see.

"Average not a 4 star"

6.0

Il start by saying the staff are really lovely, it was my daughters 18th birthday and I called ahead to inform them and they upgraded her room and gave her some champagne and balloons which was lovely! Unfortunately that is where the lovely ends, the hotel needs updating, the walls are paper thi and you can hear kids screaming at 7am! The food is awful and r repetitive, there is nothing around the hotels xcept a Starbucks! I would not return.

"Great staff and OK hotel."

6.0

We’ve just returned from a family break (2 adults, 1 child aged 5), and while we had a good time overall, there are definitely some highs and lows to consider before booking. The hotel is in a fantastic spot for beach access, though unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side this trip! Location: • There is a bus stop right outside which is incredibly convenient for reaching all the popular spots. Be warned, though: the journeys can feel very long, especially when the buses are packed. • There isn't much to do in the immediate area. You'll find a Starbucks and a rather "tired" shop that some might call a supermarket, but that’s about it. Before I mention anything else, I have to say that the staff are amazing. They are friendly, helpful, and truly the heart of this hotel. Hotel: - We stayed in a family room which was spacious, clean, and perfectly suited our needs. - I have to agree with other reviewers that the hotel is "tired" and in need of a modern update. Dining Experience: This was a bit of a mixed bag. - The Buffet: Honestly, it wasn’t great. The food felt very "budget" and repetitive. While we understand they have a lot of people to feed, we’ve stayed at other All-Inclusives with higher guest capacities where the food quality was significantly better. - A La Carte: This is where the hotel shines! The quality here is 100% on par with top-tier restaurants. The Orient was fantastic, and Levant was mind-blowing—the Lebanese and Arabic flavours were authentic and delicious. Childcare & Facilities We were disappointed with the Kids Club. The facilities inside are awful, but the bigger issue was the staff. The lady manning it seemed completely clueless and looked like she didn't want to be there at all. It didn't instil any faith in us as parents; we left our daughter there for an hour, collected her, and never went back. We had a nice stay, but we wouldn’t return. For a little more money, we would prefer to stay closer to the main hubs and enjoy a higher standard of food in the main restaurant. Pros: Incredible staff, spacious family rooms, and elite A La Carte dining. Cons: Poor buffet quality, dated facilities, and a chaotic indoor pool area. Poor kids club
