Newport News Marriott at City Center

The Staff makes this Marriott so inviting! The entire staff but specifically these wonderful folks made this stay great! Waymon at the front desk -thorough and friendly Vivian and Neka at breakfast- welcoming and set up our good day. Anton (2-0 was right!) - contagious energy Calm, cool atmosphere. Location was close to Chris Newport College where we needed to be . On the lake/pond was a nice to be able to walk without getting lost .haha. Hotel smelled clean and slightly floral which was nice. Food was average but the service was exceptional. Hotel could use an interior facelift as the common areas, rooms and carpets are showing wear. Value versus other Marriott stays was average . Value versus other brands in this category is above average. If you book a fountain view room, ask for a room in the middle as end rooms do not have a quality view.

I am a Marriott member so always enjoy your properties. I was really surprised by how well kept, clean ,and beautiful the facilities were in Newport News. On top of that, every member of the staff I met were friendly, engaging and so nice and helpful ! Housekeeping was fantastic. The rooms were clean and AJ at the bar was the best she took very good care of me.

Nice hotel in nice area

We stayed for just one weekday night. The check-in and check-out went quickly. Our room was a typical size for this class of hotel. The room was clean and neat and the bed was comfortable. Parking was convenient with plenty of spaces, but the hotel charged us for it. We had breakfast in the hotel and it was good. They offer the choice of menu items or a buffet. The menu item took a very long time to arrive. We wondered if they had to go an outside supplier to pick up the food. We selected a room with a view of the fountains and it looked excellent. We did not hear any outside noise and we were pleased by that. As has become typical, added to the room charge was a city tax, state tax, and a local tax. Every staff person we met was friendly. The room could use a make-up/shaving mirror.

Our room look like a beaver had gotten ahold of some of furniture. The bed leaned and we could hear pleople talkimg thru the vents.

Great staff

Attended an event at the Marriott and was served by Antoinette! She took the best care of our table and was so kind when my friends let her know that I was pregnant. She deserves all the recognition!!!

Amazing venue Antoinette was great! They really am do a phenomenal job. I have enjoyed my time at this venue . We will be back next year . Antoinette really has good service.

The easiest check in experience ever! Check in took 2 mins! Keep up the good work

Our experience was only enhanced by the friendly attentive staff. Kerry went above and beyond throughout our visit. After we left the Concierge Lounge, she found my purse on the floor where we were sitting and brought it to me in my room. What an honest amazing person. Thanks for saving the day.
