Royal Mediterranean Hotel

Convenient to the Canton fair. Familiar with the area, always stay at this hotel when visiting Guangzhou

I went down to the reception with 2 purposes. 1. To store & frozen my breastmilk - apparently the reception referred me to the luggage storage counter and the bell boy stated I go directly to the restaurant. They are not very friendly to help. However, the restaurant staff at 2Floor have superb service. They even want to offer me a drink while they retrieve my stored milk from freezer. 2. Drilling & knock noise- I speak nicely the reception & he mentioned that he will send a staff to my room to check also explain to me that certain floors of the hotel is rented out. I did my CSI and found out 22nd floor carried out renovation works. I leave the room at 10.30am but no sights of the staff who suppose come up to my room. The same night i complain to a few ladies at the reception twice and they denied my allegations and argued with disbelief until i show them the video. They called the manager and I request for a call. I went back to my room x2 with no calls to me. There are too many lapses in the communication between the reception, hotel staff, managers. There are no protocol or guidelines given to the tenants when they sublet out the whole floor to other companies. The nonchalant & disbelief attitude by the reception staff is horrible. cleanliness also not the top notch with algae growing at the washing basin. The table lamp also in faulty condition. They seriously need some mystery shopper to deem their service rating. Honestly, this is not fit to be a 5 star hotel.

Bed was very comfortable. Hardly anyone spoke English. Concierge service was excellent and willingness to go extra mile. Very convenient for shopping.

Check in was smooth. All was good. However the rooms are dated. The carpet looks a concern to even step on without slippers. The tv channels are hard work. Only in chinese and should you want international selections, look elsewhere. Breakfast is a miss.

Overall good with nice rooms and facilities. Friendly staff, reasonable price.

I stayed for 3 nights with my wife in the Executive Premier Suite, the room is very spacious with nice bathroom and good eminities in the room. The view outside the window is panoramic as I was put in 37th floors of the hotel. The only set back is the design of the drainage in te bathroom which often caused overflow of bath water outside bath area. Other than that it was really pleasant to stay in this hotel. Located in the middle of business and restaurant area and very close to MRT station. For those who don’t know where to stay in Guangzhou, youbmay want to try this hotel out. Breakfast was ot fancy but enough variety to choose from. The restaurant at 12 floor serves good food.

overall stay was good.. was abit disappointed with the room cleanliness but its ok.

I stay from abril 22 to abril 25 only 3 days and all the same

Poor wifi, could not download an email. Constant drop outs.
