"Not a 5-star hotel."

I had reserved the room for a stay of two nights for my family. I already specified in the reservation that we are a group of 2 adults and 2 kids. However, there were only two sets of bathroom stuff and slippers in the room. I had to called them and requested for two more sets. They put me on hold for the first time, and hanged up. I had to call again…One of the closet has a broken door hinge, the door is unable to stay closed completely…..show door unable to close well, water leaking when taking shower…... At night time, the pillow is so low then I called the service and asked for more pillows. I asked them to send us 4 more pillows, and they "counter offered" me: "How about I give you two more?"...Negotiation on pllows!!...... The beds in double room are Twin size…. Not everything is bad, good thing for this hotel: 1. The room is spacious, about 600 sq.ft., very good for a family; 2. Every day they will provide some fresh fruits at the elevator lobby; 3. The rooms are at the 30+ floor, which allows you to make a good observation on the city’s old/new buildings

"A room for a Prince"

I am so shocked to see bad reviews. I had a very pleasant experience here. I was upgraded to a huge room while asked for non-smoking room, on the 36 floor. The room was like a mini Palace, huge, with extremely clean large shower room, bathtub, large TV that I didn't know how to operate since the basic few screens are in Chinese and the remote is Chinese too. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were perfect Thick down soft and fine blanket all highest quality. The breakfast is OK, quite a few options for Asian and Western. The location to the Canton fair and the is great, not too far at all. I wish they will have an English guide to be able to move the TV to regular Channels.

"3rd Time is NOT a Charm!"

Since when is being a Non-Smoker cost more money for a room? I can say I've heard some crazy things in my travels to China but this one was insane! I booked the hotel room and then called the hotel to confirm that I would have a non-smoking room which I was assured I would. Once I get there they put me in a smoking room and said that's what I booked and I went into this whole explanation about the booking. They said I'd need to pay more to be put into a room that was non-smoking, then it was that the hotel was completely booked and there were no other rooms available then they magically found a room after I told them (as I did oin the phone call I made) that I have severe allergies to smoke and smoke dander (true). It wasted almost an hour of my time after traveling for 23 hrs. The rooms are worn down and beat up and in need of remodeling badly. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice in this apparent upgraded room but the carpets are dirty, the furniture was scratched and the mini fridge did not work. I understand that not all rooms may be like this but the age of the rooms are apparent. The food is extremely over priced for the quality. There are much better option close by. NO WAY is this a 5 Star hotel.

The Hotel: After staying here for several years... it's most likely my last stay. The rooms are run down and repairs were clearly evident in the room. I was extremely upset at the fact that they tried charging me more because I was a NON-SMOKER...yes you read that right. I clearly made a reservation for a non-smoking room and called China to confirm yet they said I would have to pay more if I wanted a different room that was on a non-smoking floor!! I finally convinced them that it's their responsibility to make my stay comfortable for the week I was there for. I was "upgraded" to a non-smoking room which was better but no way should I have had to argue with them over it. They did blame Expedia because those were the rooms allowed on the website so Expedia should take notice to that. The fruit flies are still there too....have never understood why they can't seem to get rid of them. The bathrooms are the only good thing I can write about, however, if I was not put into a non-smoking room then I'm not sure how that would have been. There is NO WAY this is a 5 star hotel so don't be fooled....3.5 at best.

On checking out, was told that I must pay 35rmb for an allegedly stained face towel (which nobody informed or showed me). Said amount was deducted from my deposit. Terrible customer service.

This is not a 5-star hotel. It has nice physical plant but its management is like that of a 2-star hotel. The staff needs a lot of training to understand friendliness, consistency, care, and all other knowledge and attitude issues required for a 5-star hotel.
