Royal Mediterranean Hotel

If you’re in and out of Guangzhou then this place will do.One gets the sense that it focuses on Local visitors as staff English is hit and miss. Western cuisine is lacking in variety. Decor is grand in some ways but a bit hit and miss. Lacks a coherent theme. Anyway staff as you would expect try their best. In the end I left not feeling enriched by the experience but at least it was spacious and clean.

Room looked dated & old. The bedsheets were stained & the TV didn’t work.

Need more professional English speaking Staff..for so many overseas guest arriving at this property!

The worst treatment I have found in the world is in this hotel ( the reception team)

This hotel does not have a spa and does not have any kind of pool. The photos of the spa and the pool are false advertising. The spa on the 12th floor is a different business run by a different owner and management. You are not allowed to even see the spa facilities without paying. WHAT? Yes, you can't even see the spa facilities. I went there with the hotel management and they wouldn't even let her in to see the spa facilities. When I asked about the photos of the indoor pool on their website they laughed and said it was an old photo. Look for yourself: royalmediterraneanguangzhou And even this one: dzhgz which they claim as their current website. Look at the "leisure" photo gallery. This is false advertising. There is NO POOL AT ALL!!! Also, the carpet had not been vacuumed. The wifi constantly cut out. The breakfast was barely standard. And sewer smells constantly wafted up from the floor drains in the bathroom. I will never stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here for one night when on a shopping break to Guangzhou. The hotel is close to 2 subway stations towards the east of thte Tianhe area, very close to various shopping malls and electronics malls. We wanted a non-smoking room so ended up in a very grand room (that cost more than we'd hoped to pay) on the 37th floor with great views towards the south. The bathroom was huge with both a bath and a shower. We also used the hotel's huge gym. The hotel is set back from the main road so our room was very quiet at night. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel but there are plenty of eating places close by, both western and Asian style. This is a very elegant hotel that's well placed for public transport and all sorts of shopping.
