Reefhouse Resort and Marina

The weather was bad so, we didn't experience many water sports, spa, the pool, outdoor dining, etc. Yet, overall it was a lovely place to stay and enjoy a couple of days.

Just the weather which had nothing to do with the resort. December offers up a difficult time to travel in South FL with weather being difficult wet/cold yet, that was no fault of the resort.

Our stay didn’t get off to the best start when reception informed us that the resort fee was higher than stated in our confirmation email. This was escalated but even the hotel manager wouldn’t assist us, despite the hotel confirming that they are aware that this is an issue and the paperwork given to us at check in stated the resort fee matched what was in our confirmation. For what it’s worth, the resort fee is very expensive and is a significant addition to the room rate. The rooms are nice and very clean, but they are starting to show signs of wear, and are in need of a bit of TLC in places. However the bed was very comfy and we had a great nights sleep! There’s a really lovely pool and jacuzzi area available to all guests, however it needs cleaning more regularly as there were used plasters and ear plugs on the poolside next to the jacuzzi. Overall the hotel is nice and would recommend to stop for a night when travelling to or from Key West.

hammock at the beach was nice. we had breakfast once, and it was good.

Just about everything. Cleanliness stood out. It had everything that appeals to me. Fishing, diving, wave runners etc.

Food could have been little better. Not a show stopper, we'll be back.

The room was very clean. The shower was excellent, consistent hot water, the TV worked perfectly and the balcony was a nice touch. It was mostly quiet, especially at night. There were many pillows, and the refrigerator was larger than a mini so plenty of room for snacks to be stored. Gus' Grille was an extremely nice restaurant with people who made sure I was treated well as a solo older female traveler eating a meal by myself. The staff were extremely caring and I really appreciated that, on top of the fact that the food was excellent. It was carefully prepared and I was truly impressed. Although I didn't need housekeeping, as I'm tidy, I used them for help when I needed a few supplies during the week and to take my trash. They were extremely accommodating and respectful to me as a solo female traveler.

I had only one problem when I was there. I went to the Breezer restaurant on the property and a bar server immediately started reading me the drinks. When I said, excuse me, I don't drink, she got annoyed and told me to let her finish reading all the drinks. She then took up where she left off, so I said, Since I am not drinking, what is the point of this? She stopped, and walked away in a huff. Because of that experience, I was turned off from eating there as a solo female traveler.

Die Infrastruktur war super, alles sehr gepflegt. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig. Pool und Umgebebung ist sehr ansprechend gemacht, auch mit der Poolbar, wo Snacks/Drinks etc. erhältlich waren. Schöne Atmosphäre am Abend im Ressort.

Am Badestrand hatte es viel Seegras, was unangenehm war.
