"Reefside Resort Key Largo"

6.0

Heard the traffic from Rt 1 all night long, this was vacation but I came away more tired than when I got here. Door to patio and window in bedroom did not fully close and staff did fix it once we called it to attention. 2 screens were frayed away. Seems routine repairs and maintenance don’t happen unless guests complain? Bathroom fan is clogged. Carpeting is very old and should be replaced. This was an older room. We were on 2nd floor, no elevator but did not know this in advance. Place needs a good cleaning and TLC. Staff are very nice and are responsive to issues quickly. Second hot tub is needed due to crowds and water change in existing hot tub would be helpful. Pool is nice and is heated. Lots of family games on premises. Our little kitchen was nice and 1 bedroom suite was spacious with 2 large beds and pull out sofa sleeper. Scenic property, soothing views. So our review is mixed.

Alot of amenities on the property and good location on Key Largo. Facilities were beautiful and well maintained.

While I know prices are steep in the Florida Keys and on Key Largo in particular. However for the room size and features I felt like we overpaid by 10-15%. Resort fee is unnecessary - bake it into the price. Resorts should only have that fee system if you could decline and not use some of the amenities. Felt like a burdensome tax ($45/night) which was overkill. 2 nights with taxes and fees - almost $1,200. Having stayed there now - wouldn't have paid more than $400 / night inclusive of resort fee. I know you are paying for beachfront and exclusive access but not sure it was worth it.

This is our first visit to this property. It’s just a clean , well planned out facility. There is plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the sun and the amenities, the staff is absolutely wonderful. I really wanted to take the bed with me. I want to find out what sheets and pillowcases and pillows they used cause I had the best sleep every night.

Well it’s the first time I experienced somebody saying to me you can’t have a cooler and kinda I felt violated a little bit because it was 80° temps and it was not really cooler. It was an insulated bag for my glasses for my sunscreen for things I didn’t want to get hot and for my bottles of water so I didn’t like that I understand it but I didn’t like it.

My mom, adult daughter, and I enjoyed a week at the resort. We had a third floor two bedroom overlooking the pool. The kitchen was large and had the basics. The living room and deck were very nice. The staff members everywhere were great. We ate at the restaurants and enjoyed the views. We took a little tour at the coral growing lab - very interesting. We would return.

"Amazing place. We will be back."

Plenty of places to sit and view the water. Amenities on site including all the jet ski rentals and boat tour maxes it very convenient.

A little pricey but it is Key Largo

Such a beautiful place to stay, such convenience with laundry, food, drinks, pool, beach, games area and so much more. Staff were so lovely and courteous.

High priced drinks, but to be experienced I suppose.

"Amazing family resort! We will definitely be returning!"

10.0

We hopped around several hotels on the keys for our first family trip. Key Largo and The Reefhouse was our last stop. It was our favorite! ARRIVAL: Arrival was very smooth. We got in a couple hours early and fortunately our room was ready. Vanessa at check-in was very helpful and explained everything about the resort. We got comfortable wrist bands to wear that gave us access to the room and the pool/beach area. There were cookies and a flavored water available for guests. We were also given a welcome gift which was two plastic glasses and a small bottle or prosecco (very thoughtful!). The check-in area was very nice and comfortable. We were able to park our car in a nice shaded garage and just took a short walk to our elevator up to our room. ROOM: The room was spacious and comfortable with a great view. We folded out the couch in our king room for our kids. The bed was comfortable and wifi was solid. Bathroom was nice and everything was clean. A turndown service came by and gave us chocolate which was a nice touch. We loved the balcony with the bay view. It was a tad noisy at night from the pool area, but that didn't really bother us since we are all deep sleepers. Light sleepers might find it too loud. POOL & BEACH: This is why you should come here. The pool was heated and fun for our kids to swim in. Long stairs made it easy to enter and for little ones to practice swimming. There was aso a hot tub which we loved. The pool and beach areas were not crowded at all. There were plenty of open chairs and plenty of available towels. The best park is the beach area was right next to the pool area so the kids could easily go back and forth and we could divide and conquer with our two kids. FOOD & DRINKS: There was a bar by the pool with helpful and quick bartenders. My husband ordered several pina coladas with floaters that were delicious. We also got virgin drinks for the kids. I loved that you could order food from the resort's restaurant (Gus' Grille) and it was brought to you pool side. We enjoyed tacos, the BBQ pizza, and kids pizza/burgers. It was very good and food and drinks were reasonably priced. It was super convenient and allowed us to capitalize on our pool/beach time since we only stayed for one night. ATMOSPHERE: Staff and other guests were friendly and it was a chill vibe overall. It was definitely a family-focused resort and most everyone I saw had kids. It was also great that we got an arrival text and we could text if we needed anything (we got an extra blanket sent to our room, for example). It was nice to not have to call or go down stairs. Very relaxing. CONCLUSION: This was at the top of our budget (I think it totaled $630 for the one night, including the room, taxes, and the resort fee). However, it was definitely worth it to us and we are planning on coming back next year during our kids' February vacation week and staying two nights (after two nights in Key West). Our kids (6 & 8 year old boys) called this a five-star luxury resort and did NOT want to leave. We would definitely recommend this for other families.
