"Excellent !"

10.0

A terrific hotel in a great location. Stayed 5 nights in a fantastic room (401) overlooking the ocean and amazing sunsets. Superb poolside cocktail bar, lovely beach and access to water sports. Vanessa was simply superb and arranged for Key Lime Pie and chocolate covered strawberries to be in our room in arrival because it was a celebratory stay. Would definitely stay here again.

"Don't go stay o a Saturday unless you are partying."

6.0

Stayed three nights. First two were great. The last was a Saturday night and it was party time. It was very loud and noisy.

"Low key Caribbean feel vacation"

8.0

We had a great time at this resort. The resort had a Jamaican vibe without the long travel and customs. Our view was gorgeous. The resort was not too busy in April. The food is good and pool bar drinks are strong and fantastic! You can walk to Big Chill if you want more of a party scene. Recommended restaurant is Buzzards Roost, short car ride away. But do not sit outside without screen, mosquitos are unbelievable😳

"Great Diving"

10.0

We had a great diving experience with Brad and Scuba Joe. They were very entertaining and helpful. Just know there are no dive masters with your dives unless you hire your own. The dive sites were beautiful. Would definitely come back for diving.

"Gorgeous"

10.0

Went here on a bus trip, the resort was magnificent, you could literally stay here for a week and not even have to leave! There are restaurants and bars on property as well as water adventures thru Pirates Cove! Such a beautiful property to explore!

"Dilapidated hotel needs total overhaul, filthy. Rude staff, 20 year loyal customer destroyed, Demote Management now!"

2.0

Management, staff, and this dilapidated property desperately require an ownership overhaul. Duct-taped walls, two-by-fours masquerading as railroad ties, broken routers sputtering feeble WiFi, and non-functional TVs are bad enough. Far worse is the staff’s bellowing across floors, rudely shattering guests’ sleep by 8–9 a.m. during their supposed vacation. No courteous greetings, no welcome—just indifferent silence as they pass you by. This reflects a manager and front desk who couldn’t care less about customers once Saturday night is sold out. The rest of the week they grovel for bookings, yet the hotel remains filthy, with collapsing mattresses and threadbare linens. Their incompetence in handling a simple room change has permanently scorched over two decades of loyalty, reducing this once-respected hotel to a squalid motel at best. Long-time guests are now treated as afterthoughts by a dirty, corrupt front desk more interested in fishing for tips than offering basic apologies. This asset is in terminal decay; the current management and front desk require immediate demotion or outright replacement.

"An Adults Only Pool Would Improve a Stay here"

8.0

We decided to make a last minute reservation to celebrate our Anniversary (early) and had never explored any of the Florida Keys except for Key West previously. We honestly chose this resort for its location in the chain (closeness to Miami) and for what we felt was a reasonable price point for a quick two night stay. All in all we were not totally disappointed in our choice. The resort is perfectly situated for those looking for a beach front get away though it was a bit dated in our opinion. The room was a nice size and very clean. The balcony was a nice size with a partial view of the pool and the small private beach beyond. The pool area was lovely and well maintained but was loaded with children of all ages making it difficult to enjoy a relaxing experience if you are an adult couple without kids. The employees were all very nice and welcoming. We were scheduled to do a scuba dive but the tour was cancelled due to windy conditions (not the resort's fault). The restaurant and poolside bar featured decent food at reasonable prices. There were plenty of restaurant options very near the resort to suit any taste or budget. If you are a family traveling with young children this spot may be your bliss. If you are a mature couple without kids looking for a romantic get away ... you may want to look elsewhere. A solid choice for sure but it would have been nice for a resort of this size to offer an "adults only" pool as an additional option.

"Last min plans turned into Gold"

10.0

My husband and I are in our 70s. Finally, we made the drive from Daytona to Keywest. It was horrible weather. The sun would come out just enough for us to enjoy the beautiful turquoise water. My husband is an amputee, and still can't walk without crutches. After many miles on the road we called the Reefhouse in Key Largo. Last min we didn't expect much. We were so happy to meet Vanessa, the supervisor. She greeted me with a big smile, helped me with my husband, saw to our bags, dinner and champagne was delivered to our room. This is a big deal! The view from pur balcony was over looking tropical flowers and a beautiful pool with hot tubs. The bed was Devine! Get the fish tacos!! And special coffee in rhe morning. Thank you Vanessa! I'm planning to go back!

"Wonderful property, but needs good food to be considered luxury"

8.0

We had a 2 BR suite overlooking the pool and beach. The resort is very clean and the response is immediate if something needs to be fixed. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was difficult to find anyone in Bruisers to take an order. We found the food mediocre. At poolside we had Conch fritters with mini planks of unchewable conch, mahi sandwich that seemed frozen and a mango salad with microscopic bites of mango. With very few people at the pool it took 45 min to an hour to get food.It seems Gus’s makes the food at poolside so we skipped Gus’s. We also found the food at Bruisers unremarkable, well done burger, mushy nachos. Gus’s makes that also. Plenty of space for kids to run. And all water sports activities on site. We hear Opal group had purchased it and is improving the physical property. I’d come back if they upped the food quality and pool service
