"Excellent! "

The Thalassa is a great place to stay, steps down to the beach are nearby. Also a supermarket close by and a restaurant Legends which does good food. The service was exemplary at the hotel. All the staff are super friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

"An amazing hotel, brilliant staff and a wonderful holiday."

10.0

Located in Coral Bay beautiful scenery / sunsets. Choice of 2 beaches. I was in room 614 and the view was stunning - even saw a wedding going on in the Sister hotel from my balcony. Sun is on the balcony from about 3 ish. Very quiet and relaxing. Pool towels are given out on arrival daily to the pool or you can just help yourself if staff not there. Rooms are very clean, everything is free of charge of charge Tea, Coffee and milk etc , bottle of water daily - only thing you pay for is anything in the fridge. Waiters come around the pool area which is great, but I would recommend getting a receipt every time you pay for drinks etc as I used to run a tab during the day for a few bits then pay at the end of the day , so on the day of leaving I should have had a nil balance, I was told I owed 7 euros, then the bar said 15 euros, it was extremely embarrassing however I knew 100% that my tab was cleared daily. All staff were extremely helpful but the Receptionists are outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble - a few times my milk was not left in the room and they kept sorting it out for me! It was my 60th whilst I was away and one of the receptionists had requested a cake - the next day she asked if id enjoyed it, but it didn't arrive - however it was a nice thought! It was an amazing hotel, breakfast was superb - my first trip alone and I would recommend it for Solos/Couples/Groups. Adult only. Outside steps to beach are not for fainthearted, steep with a rope hand rail. Although you can use the restaurants at the sister hotel Coral Beach Hotel if you were All Inclusive , you couldn't use the pools which was a real shame as the sun is off the pool around 3/4 oclock, whilst the sun is on the other hotel pool all day. Overall an amazing holiday - thank you very much xx

"A Peaceful Hotel… Until the Party Boat Arrives"

6.0

Overall I'd say this hotel is a bit of a mixed bag. On the plus side, the staff are genuinely lovely—friendly, helpful, and clearly trying their best. Breakfast was consistently good, with a decent variety and fresh options every morning. The hotel itself has apparently been recently renovated, but you wouldn’t guess it from the decor. It still feels quite dated—like they just polished up the old look rather than bringing it into the modern day. There’s a slightly tired feel throughout, which is a shame because the bones of the place are nice. The biggest downside, though, is the pool area. It should be a peaceful haven, and it starts that way in the morning. But almost every day, a big party boat shows up, moors right by the pool, and turns the whole area into a sort of floating nightclub. Loud music, drunk shouting, and general chaos that completely kills any relaxing vibe. Unlimited drinks on the boat probably don’t help. Once you hear "Sweet Caroline" belting out of the PA its time to go in. If you’re looking for a calm and restful holiday by the pool, this might not be the right spot—at least not until someone deals with the party boat situation, its not the hotels fault but it'd put me off coming back.

"A Gem in Coral Bay"

10.0

Stylish, elegant and sophisticated. This hotel is a gem on a beautiful island. The furniture in the room has lovely mitered edges, beautiful natural wood flooring and a relaxing bed and pillows. The bathroom is a comfortable size with a powerful shower or bath, depending on your mood. The rooms are cleaned daily diligently and the espresso machine is well stocked for at least two espressos a day. A turndown service is offered but I never took advantage of this. Depending on which side of the hotel your room is located, you are given a sunrise or sunset view from your balcony. My room, 709, overlooking coral bay beach gave me the pleasure of sunrise. I felt very privileged to be the first guest of the season, having the entire hotel to myself for the first night. I was warmly greeted by Alex when I arrived and he helped me with my bags. Everyone from the front desk, restaurant staff, bar, spa and pool staff were always trying to make my stay as comfortable as possible without being overbearing. I chose this hotel as I needed some R&R which I can say I got lots of. I booked half board and was not disappointed by the quality of the food. Stelios, the head Chef would regularly introduce himself to the hotel stayers and would make sure they were catered to. My first meal was the truffle risotto which was cooked perfectly. Every meal was an enjoyable experience with lovely native wine. Dining alone was was made easy as all of the staff always made sure I didn’t feel disconnected from the hotel or less important. I took advantage of the spa, which includes a sauna, steam room, indoor heated pool and jacuzzi (which was being repaired at the end of my stay as a part had broken). I also had three treatments during my stay. A full body massage, reflexology and back and legs. Rest, the therapist that took care of me was excellent. If I could, I would have had a treatment everyday of my 10 day stay! The guys at the bar were extremely helpful and always helped me order some great cocktails that were made with lots of care. To sum up my stay, not only is the building beautiful but so are the people. Coming here is truly a relaxing, rejuvenating experience. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you to everyone that works there.

"Exceptional"

10.0

Enjoyed our stay here. It's a smaller hotel (compared to the Coral Beach next door), so it's much quieter, especially as there are no children. The room was clean and comfortable, as was the rest of the hotel. The outdoor pool area was really well maintained and the staff were very attentive (perhaps a little too attentive?). However, the indoor pool looked a little 'tired', looking like it needed some attention. The breakfast buffet was varied and well-prepared. The hotel restaurant for evening meals, despite being very good, was at the expensive end at around €100 for two people for a two-course meal with wine. The local beach can be reached from the hotel, and there are plenty of other places to each or drink within a few minutes walk, or a 20-minute walk into the local town.

"Lovely hotel - shame about the room"

6.0

I had a short break in this hotel 21st – 25th September but am very late posting a review as there has been some correspondence between the hotel and I since my return and I wanted to give them every opportunity to address the issues that I had. My main reason for booking this hotel was for the view. On the front page of their website it states ‘Revered for its panoramic sea views from every room, this adults-only hotel is a haven of luxury with its 100 exquisite bedrooms, each providing a unique vista of either sunrise or sunset’. Sadly this is not true as rooms 101-106 and 201-206 are below pool level to the side of the hotel with the view to the right blocked by a stone wall and the view ahead between trees and bushes over the garden to a partial sea view. I was put in room 104. The hotel management dispute this saying that all rooms have a sea view. My argument remains that it was not the panoramic sea view advertised on the website. There is no price difference but you have a 12% chance of not getting the promised panoramic view. I had numerous other issues with the room including a noisy toilet cistern that disturbed my sleep despite three visits from maintenance and hotel staff insisting that it has been fixed. Sleep quality was poor due to the very bright garden uplighters that made my room and balcony as light as daytime from dusk until almost 5 am. Around 5 am every second day noisy garden sprinklers started up. Half of the first floor between the lift and the rooms on the first floor is back-of-house activities and is where the store rooms and maintenance room can be found. For two days a pallet of toilet rolls greeted guests outside the lift There is no balcony privacy on this floor as it overlooks the beach bar and sunbeds. It is noisy and, just for good measure, the smoke from anyone smoking drifts up to the balconies. At the far end of the corridor, as far away from reception as it is possible to be, there is a lift from the car park area to the beach bar that stops at the room floors as well so that anyone can access at any time day or night. The hotel management assure me that safety of guests has never been an issue and that there are regular security patrols. I was obviously not in the right place at the right time as I never saw a security patrol at any time. The hotel management say I was offered a room change but refused it. On 23rd I was told that some guests were leaving the next day 24th and it might be possible to change rooms. I pointed out that I was leaving on 25th so not worth the effort of packing, unpacking, and repacking within a 24-hour period. To be fair, hotel management have said that if I book for next season I’m guaranteed a top floor room, two a la carte bookings instead of one, a late check-out, and goodies in the room worth EU 50. I’m afraid that the memories of my negative experiences this trip far outweighs this offer and I shall head for pastures new. Lovely location and great views if you get the right room. Adults only and no piped music were welcome. Spa was average. The public areas of the hotel are very nice and well-kept. The pool area was lovely with a helpful lifeguard so that there was never a problem finding a sunbed. There were fresh towels on every visit to the pool. The buffet restaurant provides a good choice of food and the a la carte restaurant on site was pleasant. I expect these things from this standard of hotel and they met my expectations in these areas. The young doorman was excellent and deserves a special mention.

"Best hotel in Cyprus"

10.0

Our third time in Cyprus and this hotel was by FAR the best! Upon arrival, we were met by 2 lovely door staff who immediately made us feel welcomed. We were then greeted by Athina on the front desk who was AMAZING and so so helpful. We were offered welcome drinks, check in was smooth with our bags being taken up to our fantastic sea view room. The hotel itself and the rooms are outstanding. The rooms are extremely clean & a good size, a lovely balcony with sunset views across the ocean. We went half board which I would recommend, the food was really good and different each night (think it's on a weekly rotation) and the staff were accommodating & very friendly (nothing was too much to ask). One thing I would say is the tea/coffee situation in the mornings was a bit hectic, some guests would make their own (which we were told to not do), making staff members have to wait to serve others which ended up being quite a long time before we were served our hot drinks. The pool area was well kept and beautiful views all round. Loved the fact fresh clean towels were provided too. The pool bar was slightly secluded & not by the pool itself, I think that area could do with an update but it was still nice if you wanted somewhere quiet to sit. We had one meal at the al la carte restaurant for my partners birthday, I arranged a cake (free of charge!) with Athina the night before which made it special and the food was incredible! I would 100% recommend booking a meal there at least 1 evening of your stay. Several evenings we went out for dinner (for a change of scenery) and there's quite a few options to walk to (some better to go by bus which is literally 2 mins from hotel). When we returned we would sit in the hotel lobby/bar where live music was (piano, saxophone, guitar etc) and have a drink, which we thought was a really nice touch. All in all, this hotel exceeded our expectations and we would return again for sure !! Thank you to all who made our holiday so special (especially Athina!)
