Well worth hiring a car to get to Pinhao but rail transport is available. The hotel is stunning and the food is Michelin quality. The location is right on the Douro river, very tranquil. Just idyllic. Nothing was too much for the staff, they couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.

A vista é maravilhosa e o ambiente muito tranquilo, ideal para descansar. O café da manhã é espetacular, com ótima qualidade e variedade. O atendimento foi excelente e a limpeza impecável.

O hotel não possui academia nem spa, o que pode fazer falta para alguns hóspedes. No meu caso, isso não impactou a experiência.

"Fabulous three days in a beautiful place."

One of the loveliest hotels we've stayed in. Superb location on the riverfront in Pinhao. Perfect base for exploring the Douro valley, and visiting the many wonderful quintas nearby. Breakfasts were fabulous, and the bar terrace sublime, with very nice all day bar food.

The hotel restaurant was a little disappointing. The food was perfectly acceptable, but it felt like they were perhaps trying too hard to be special.
