Carlton Hotel Dublin Airport Hotel

The room was very hot, no air conditioning, just a fan. Our room showed we had a shower and a bath separate but only had a regular standard shower/bath combo. The room had a bit of a smell so we were happy about that either (not able to move us) also charged me a second time upon arrival and had to wait days for the refund.

Very comfortable, airport shuttle, a/c, quiet, family friendly.

The bed area appears to have been refreshed, however, the bathroom is original and needs updating.

Arrived early evening as the final stop in our month long trip to Europe, staff were a little curt at check in, but ultimately proficient. Family room was clean and comfortable, plenty of towels and hot water but the shower came out of an odd "golf ball" type fitting and blasted water all over the place and was not great. Room was VERY hot and though we appreciated the fan, it really did nothing to cool the room. We did have a great view of the incoming planes through our open window, but of course that made it fairly loud. We hoped to eat at the hotel, but when checking in were not told that only one dining option was open, and that reservations were needed. When we came back downstairs for dinner staff again were fairly curt and offered no other suggestions as to where we might be able to eat. One plus point, the check in staff did confirm we had an early flight and booked our spots on the airport shuttle - it's a small bus and could fill up quickly. One pet peeve of all airport hotels, and not specific to this one, is that when so many of their guests are staying there precisely because they have an early flight, it would be nice to have early breakfast options - there's no reason why a simple buffet couldn't be made available, say from 4am - it doesn't even need to be manned!

I recently had an unfortunate experience with the Carlton Hotel Dublin's parking facilities that left me quite disappointed, particularly in regard to their customer service approach. Due to a genuine oversight, I mistakenly parked at the Clayton Hotel instead of my intended hotel. Upon returning and realising the error, I immediately spoke with the receptionist at the Carlton, who advised me to email management to explain the situation and request a possible refund or gesture of goodwill. I did so in good faith, expecting a fair review of the circumstances. However, the response I received felt rigid and dismissive. Despite my immediate effort to raise the issue and clarify the situation, there was no willingness to offer flexibility or any understanding of the context. I wasn't trying to avoid payment—I simply made an honest mistake and had hoped for a more empathetic response. In contrast, when I explained the situation to the Clayton Hotel, where I had actually parked, their team acknowledged my error and kindly offered a 50% discount as a goodwill gesture. That level of understanding made a real difference and reinforced the value of customer-first service. Unfortunately, my experience at the Carlton has left me with a negative impression. A small gesture of understanding would have gone a long way in encouraging future business and loyalty. I’m sharing this review as an honest account of the customer service I received.

This was the perfect launching off point for an evening in Dublin. We took an extended layover to take in the city. The shuttle service and proximity to the airport made this a natural choice. The welcome, comfort of the property and ease for getting into downtown all reassured us that we had made the perfect choice. I would definitely stay at the Carlton again!

Restaurant not great and expensive

Everything was great start to finish!! Only problem was, we arrived at the hotel early and they charged us $38.00 for early check in. The room was available and we checked out at 7:45 am so we stayed less than 24 hours but was charged for early check in.

Only complaint was water pressure so strong as I resulted in water all over the bathroom.

Staff friendly but on checking in they did not advise that most restaurants were not open and that reservations needed for the one facility that was open. Room was incredibly hot with no AC
