Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation

Excellent location for Mt Field if you don't want to stay in the park itself. Rooms had all we needed and in good condition. Hosts were very friendly and encouraged walkabout on the farm. Best of all, was Trish's cooking. You would be missing atreat if you don't order dinner. The food offered is wide ranging and is simply to die for. High end restaurant standard delivered to your room.

The overnight temperatures were near zero. The heating simply cannot cope due to the age and style of the suite. We were in Queen. Ended up with heating on all the time and still struggled. Would be lovely in the summer.

Old style accommodation on a working farm. Trish and Steve were wonderful friendly hosts who prepare the most delicious meals served straight to your room. Our King suite was spacious and super comfy plus we had an enclosed verandah. We loved it..and Steve and Trish could not have been more helpful...did I say how good the meals are?!

the kitchen is a bit tired if this is important to you and want to self cater..but to be honest, just dont, let them serve you!

The majority of pics not related to accommodation offered dilapidated. fridge and washing machine best part. Switch for Heater in bedroom under a large cupboard . Photos misleading meal delivered in takeaway boxes. Paid the most money ever to stay in worst accom ever

All facilities we could require were available. Host was on site and very responsive to requests. Unexpected bonus was availability (with notice) of fabulous hosted meals.

Hamlet Downs is a wonderful country retreat. The setting is beautiful and the working animals very interesting. Hosts are a wonderful couple who make you feel really welcome. Nearest shop is quiet a distance away so recommend the meals that are cooked by Trish. We celebrated our 20th anniversary with a 3 course meal that was so good. Enjoy.

Hamlet Downs is a nature stay/ farm stay. The are trails around the property have plenty of birds; especially cockatoos. Percy the platypus lives onsite. The resident sheep and the pigs are pretty cute, too. At the house, we had plenty of space to stretch out. We were very comfortable— Steve made sure we had enough wood for our fire— and wine and beer, too. It is a spacious house with plenty of cooking implements. (We are four adults) Mt Field is an easy drive.

It was wonderful to have the option to order dinner and breakfast. We had dinner one night and breakfasts on both our mornings. Both were delicious, and highly recommend to anyone staying at Hamlet Downs Country Accommodation. It is a lovely property to have a stroll around as well.

Not didn't like, but more a suggestion, is it would have been nice to have a coffee table/s to put our glasses /mugs on when sitting in the lounge chairs.

The countryside location was perfect. Quiet and peaceful, set in beautiful landscape, I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I liked the decor in the property too, very tasteful.

No complaints at all from me.
