Hotel Da Gale

Needs an update terrible beds old towels very old TVs , it really needs some work.

The hotel left much to be desired largely due to the owner's unwillingness to spend money on the upkeep. Staffing and cleaners were insufficient in numbers, although the staff that I had contact with were wonderfully friendly and helpful and obviously doing their best to cope with a very difficult situation.

This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed in. On arrival was told no room available as we had missed check in!! Not sure how whoever had our room managed to check in as it was our room till 8 pm and check in closed at 8 pm. Went back next day room was supposed to be ready at 2 didn’t get it till 4.30 supposedly had an upgrade only thing that could have been upgraded was the view. Hotel is well past it’s best and not even clean. save your money and AVOID

The worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in! The bar never opened, the doors to the lift are very hit n miss. No kettle facilities or anywhere to get a cup of tea, water or anything else! The hotel itself is in a lovely position overlooking the bay, and the pool is very nice. Most of the time the water was brown from the hot water tap! We had a good time with the other guests, we sat laughing at all the things wrong with the hotel!

Truly horrible experience, the only thing this hotels has in its favour is that it’s cheap but it’s so bad that sleeping in the car would be a better choice. The receptionist, who was the only member of staff I saw, tried his best but it was still painful. The breakfast staff simply failed to appear so after 45 mins I went elsewhere for breakfast. Condition is terrible, I was told that it’s scheduled to be completely renovated soon and hence there had been no maintenance and nobody cares.

Not very good experiencev as we were put in different hotel, coz hotel Gale had toilet problem. Lot of time we were kept waiting standing for transfer despite of long 3 hours journey. 2 days , 4 people lost breakfast as no breakfast was served in new place.

Paid for hotel by hotel.com then had to pay when we got there. Got charged twice. Never again

Staff were very helpful and friendly - especially helping me carry my pram up and down stairs to get in and out of the hotel. It has magnificent views, but is a good 10 walk down to the beach (and almost double the time coming back up the hill)

Sheets and towels are changed every 3 days. They tell you there’s daily cleaning but our room was not cleaned for 4 days! Staff are amazing but the property is old, bathroom is horrible!

Stayed 2 night. Breakfast was very simple. Bread or buns, 3 types of jam, 2 types of fruit and 2 types of cereal. Nothing hot and no protein. Shower wall mount was broken. No food in the rooms policy and they wouldn't open our bottle of wine. I am sure you can find a better hotel for a similar price.
