Hotel Da Gale

The hotel is 2* and no more but close to the beach and nice view. The cleaning awful, we staid 8 nights and the room was never cleaned. They made the bed twice without changing anything from the room, not a towel, embarrassing even for a 2* hotel.

Check in was not a pleasant experience. Rude, unhelpful staff at check in. Loved the view and location or hotel but outdated decor

Hotel located just up the hill from Albufeira square, rooms are satisfactory for price you pay , clean and tidy in all areas , staff are helpful , nice continental breakfast, all you need for a relaxing time at a reasonable price.

Although a lot of steps the view is brilliant,the staff could not be bettered.Six decided to make a lot of noise and foul language,threatened with eviction,no problems.For the price paid astounding value,plenty of cereals, fruit, orange juice and latte coffee,This is our second visit,going back in September.Dont miss the Eclipse restaurant on the way to the front right opposite the church.We went there 5 times food out of this world.Also the Indian restaurant just 300 yards away.

Cheap and cheerful basic hotel, comfortable bed, clean. Pleasant and helpful staff. Breakfast was a bit sparse, rolls and bread, jam and honey, fruit, coffee and juice. Lot of steps in and out, so wouldn't suit disabled. Wouldn't want to stay for long, but for a couple of nights as somewhere to sleep it's perfectly okay. Easy walking distance to centre of Albufeira if you can manage hills. My second stay here to visit the annual wine show.

Our first stay was Oright room and bedding was clean nice newly out in shower the room got cleaned and towels every 3 days how ever out flight got cancelled so booked in for another 2 night and got given a different room where the bedding didnt smell fresh pillows were worn to say the least but I gues u get what u pay for , on the bright side it's great for sun bathing as night up never busy pool is decent not really busy that's the best part about the hotel

Very friendly and helpful reception staff. The hotel is very dated - it's like stepping back to the 80's - was like being in an episode of Eldorado or Howards Way! Clean and well maintained at the same time though so no complaints. I had to keep reminding myself you get what you pay for and for the price it was fine - with that in mind I think the 2star rating is a little unfair. The only thing that I thought was really poor was the breakfast offering.

I had mixed feelings about this Hotel and was glad I'd read the reviews and had an idea of what to expect. First the positives :- staff were friendly and helpful. I got what I asked for i.e. a room with a balcony which was private and had a nice outlook. There was a very nice rooftop bar which had Wifi and a lovely sea view, so I would be up there between 6 and 7 p.m. watching the sun go down and catching up with e.mails, etc. My room was ok, provided the basic minimum but was adequate for my needs. The two major negatives were the outdated and malfunctioning plumbing. Taps wouldn't stop dripping, the water was bronze and I was never able to get hot water for a bath/shower. Buffet breakfast was the barest minimum and most uninteresting. To sum up, for my needs it was ok but then I'm used to backpacking and camping facilities so was happy to make do. I don't think I would recommend it to friends.

Great location in the Old town, very pleasant place. The beach is 10 min walk away. Staff is very helpful, very welcoming hosts. My friend and I were really nicely surprised. Thank you for our stay!
