Hotel Athena

This wasn't the first time we have stayed at the Athena, but it was the best. The woman who was there everyday of our stay (over Christmas) was welcoming, cheerful, attentive, helpful, and generally a wonderful host. Even though we arrived late due to traffic - technically just a few minutes after the reception was to close, she was still there, welcoming us with a smile, carrying our luggage to the room, and making sure we were settled in. Also, even though the restaurant had been closed for at least 30 minutes, she insisted that we needed to eat and had food waiting for us as soon as we came back up from the room. I've never met a nicer hotelier! The room was perfectly functional. It was overlooking the rushing river, which we loved, but if you are a light sleeper do be aware that you can hear the river even with the windows closed. Well, you can from the ground floor, anyway. The spa was spectacular - much nicer than we had a right to expect in a 3 star hotel. The atmosphere was dark and tropical, the steam room cloudy and hot, the sauna just right, and the jacuzzi, though small, was a great place to soak away a long day of skiing in rough conditions. The hotel is not responsible for the middle-aged man who insisted on sitting nude, legs akimbo, in the sauna, but they were nice enough to ask him to cover up when the found out. Note to guests - bathing suits required! As I said, this wasn't our first stay at the Athena, and it definitely will not be the last!

Helpful staff, comfortable with a good sauna and steam room, ideal after skiing. Good food, fair prices

Over all is good just 20 Meter from Shuttle Bus to Olympic 1 Gondola! Nice Food and Good service! It take 5 to 10min. walking to Olympic , if don't take shuttle Bus

Nice hotel, good service, polite staff. Receptionist Dolphin is very king and nice person. I quite liked a cheef - his name is Philipp. He cookes a wonderful french food I never tried before. I would recommend to visit this hotel to all my friends.

Not the ideal location for ski cable car, but only a 10 minute walk, or use of the free shuttle service which stops at the junction of the Hotel. Other than that, can't fault the hotel, the triple room was spacious enough for 3 male adults with plenty of hot water for baths and showers. The restaurant food was impressive, couldn't fault it and compliments to the chef, as he probably makes the best 'Savoyard Burger' in the region!! Room came with a balcony with an exceptional view, hotel does have a free wifi service in the lobby or at an extra charge within the room. I would definitely stay here again and/or recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in Brides Les Bains.

We stayed for a few days skiing in March. The hotel staff, food and location were ideal. Would definitely stay here again, thank you Athena team! Ps top tip is fill your bottles with therapeutic water from the free taps by the park.

Great Food, nice hotel.

We stayed here for a week's skiing in february. We had a family room which was more like a mini suite, with a hallway, main double bedroom, bathroom and a second bedroom with bunkneds. This works brilliantly when staying with children, which we were. The room was comfortable and had a balcony. We were on the second floor and it was very quiet. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful, a choice of two starters and mains most nights and fabulous desserts! The hotel was a great place to come back to after a day's skiing and it works really well using the free shuttle bus to the olympic bubble/cablecar up to meribel. We would thoroughly recommend Hotel Athena.

A very enjoyable stay. Staff were all excellent as was food and facilities. Great location for skiing in 3 valleys especially if you have a car.
