Novotel Reading Centre

The hotel is nice and well-equipped, and is located right in the city center.

The restaurant was a slow nightmare with very little choice. The pool area is unsupervised, so people just do whatever they want. Parking is very difficult and very expensive. The only good thing is the staff—they are very kind—but the management is embarrassing.

The staff let us book in early as we went to a wedding. The swimming pool was open until 10pm Aircon in bedroom

The location is very central

The alarm went off in the hotel in the middle of the night. We had to evacuate and stay outside in an alleyway for approx 25 mins. No apology or refund was offered on checkout

This is my favourite hotel in Reading.

Central location and friendly staff

Beds very uncomfortable, bedding and towels well used. Family rooms are not fit for a family of 4 unless both children are under age or 7 or 8. The pull out sofa bed was incredibly uncomfortable, could feel every spring. Slept awful. The family rooms are tiny and not enough space for a family of 4. Rooms need a deep clean. Bathroom has a separate toilet which at first we thought would be helpful if someone is using that bathroom however the toilet is very small, fine for small children but not adults. Breakfast has the bonus of children eating free however poor quality- cereal, bread and crossiants stale. Fruit juice tasted as if it had been watered down and coffee machine broken. Hot food was average quality but overall disappointing. Would not recommend and will not be booking with Novotel again.
