Grand Hotel Flora

Abbiamo trascorso un bellissimo weekend presso Grand Hotel Flora e ci siamo trovati davvero benissimo. Fin dal nostro arrivo siamo stati accolti con grande gentilezza e professionalità: il servizio e l’attenzione verso gli ospiti sono stati davvero eccellenti. La struttura è molto bella, curata e pulitissima, con ambienti piacevoli e rilassanti. Inoltre la posizione è perfetta: centrale e comodissima, a pochi minuti a piedi dalle principali attrazioni, dal centro di Sorrento e dai punti più belli della città. Un’esperienza davvero positiva sotto ogni aspetto. Consigliamo assolutamente questo hotel a chi desidera vivere Sorrento con comfort, accoglienza e tranquillità.

Really stingy with the coffee at breakfast .

This review is based on staying in the ‘old’ part of the hotel (as the hotel seems to be half renovated) at the time of our trip we did not see or hear any renovations. The room we stayed in was tired and worn, that said the bed was super comfy, the shower was hot and the room was clean so it didn’t impact our stay, strangely the room didn’t have tea / coffee facilities, and it is definitely not sound proof, you can hear the lift, people upstairs and when they use the shower or toilet it sounds like water is pouring in your room! It did disturb our sleep on all nights. we opted for a pool view room which turned out to also be a sea view room and you could see mount Vesuvius, I’m so glad we did opt for this room as if your at the front of the hotel you can only see a very busy main road and a petrol station! Not the relaxing sound or view you want from your balcony! The room has a hair dryer, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, and a safe. It was cleaned daily. Although we didn’t use the pool it looked clean, had nice comfy cushions on the loungers and the bar staff take orders and bring your drinks to you. Breakfast is very chaotic if you go at peak time, and it does feel like they can’t cope with the amount of people, I would hate to see this in peak season. Coffee takes a LONG time to come out, the food runs out very quickly, we went to breakfast at 8am and it was a very different story, quiet and plenty of food, but from 9 onwards it was very busy, with a lot less choice of food available (they did keep bringing it out but as soon as it was out it was gone) The newer part of the hotel was beautifully decorated, modern, clean and bright, the bar area could do with some thought as it feels more like a waiting area than a bar to relax in, but that might be my personal choice. The bar menu is extensive!! And the cocktails are amazing! They make a great amoretto sour! The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the bar man (I sadly didn’t get his name) The location is on a loud busy main road that leads straight into town, it takes about 15 mins to get to the centre which is ideal, and the marina to get the boats over to capri, positano and Amalfi is about 20/25 mins walk. Depending on price and availability I don’t think I’d stay here again but I also haven’t stayed anywhere else in sorrento so I don’t have anything to compare it to, so for the price it could be great value especially if you get a newer room perhaps. I wouldn’t say the negatives impacted my stay apart from the intermittent disturbed sleep, We travelled with TUI as a package.

Mycket fint med trevlig balkong med havsutsikt.Skönt att slippa den hemska trafiken på andra sidan. Bra frukost och service. Ligger bra till i Sorrento.

Frukosten var förvånansvärt bra för Italien. Lugnt och skönt med fint poolområde.

Good location, great staff, lovely breakfast

Bathrooms lacked hooks and towel racks. Magnifying mirror is unusable unless you're very tall.
