Hotel Continental Mare

Overall pretty average for the price - very nice property but food was below average and over priced. People were helpful. The shuttle is helpful that takes you to the port. A storm damaged the ocean sun deck which had it out of action. Low light was being charged 203 euro for laundry - although this was my fault for not checking prices it was pretty jarring to be charged 4 euro per sock…. Highlight was the views and the ocean sun deck pre storm

My daughter and I had a wonderful 6 days at Continental Mare. Our room was upgraded (thank you very, very much!) and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were very good, with great gluten-free options. The shuttle to town was very helpful and the short-cut walking path to town gave us a bit of exercise, but was easier than I expected. No negatives at all - our stay was excellent.

An exceptional hotel in a fantastic cliff-top location, staffed by a friendly, efficient and experienced team. The hotel is spread across a steep cliff, away from the main road, affording stunning views of the sea and coast below. The rooms are widely dispersed across the site, providing a spacious and relaxed atmosphere. The half-board deal is great value, with exceptional dishes and some very original menus. The swimming platform, built out from the bottom of the cliff made sea swimming a delight and a wonderful spot to relax with a book whilst the waves rolled in beneath you. We enjoyed late afternoon walks along the footpath to the bustling Ischia port, watching the super yachts and ferries coming and going. The reception staff were always extremely helpful and answered every query with ease and excellent local knowledge. August was a busy holiday period on the island; we would love to return later in the season, but it's a shame the hotel closes in early October.

Great location and stunning views. The staff was very welcoming, kudos to Michele at the restaurant. He made us feel special by remembering all our preferences, his courtesy and professionalism are remarkable.

The hotel could be more accessible as we were travelling with a baby and it was sometimes difficult to move around. Otherwise everything else was exceptional.

The resort was stunning in a great location and super super relaxing, we loved our time there

Nothing it was perfect

Godt hotel med fantastisk udsigt over havet. vær dog opmærksom på at der er mange trapper, og at værelser er fordelt over en bjergside. Personalet er venlige og meget hjælpsomme. Morgenmaden er fin. 10 min. gang til havnen, men det går opad når man skal hjem. Busstop lige uden for hotellet.

The breakfast was amazing. All personal were so kind and helpful. I reallh enjoyed my stay and i highly recomend this hotel. The beach was amazing. And it was a really clean hotel. It is easy to go to center by walking, the path is dark at night but it is safe (i was staying alone and all 5 nigth i went to center and came back to hotel by walking). Thank you, and hope to come next year again.

The pool is small but when you have the sea just for you i think no need to pool :) but it is cool sunbathing near pool area.

Breakfast was good. Plenty of food. Beautiful place … pools were lovely as was the beach area.

Some Staff were abrupt or dismissive at times. Locals were treated much better than the international guests. Could have been cleaner.

We had an absolutely gorgeous stay at this hotel in July. We have been wanting to visit Ischia for a while and came across this hotel and couldn’t not book it. It’s a reasonably small hotel but that made it even more special, the grounds are beautiful, the main pool area and sea deck were perfect. So well looked after and nice atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and very attentive and the rooms felt very private. Can’t comment on the food as we only had breakfast, but this was always great. The only thing that let the hotel down slightly was the rooms, a little worn and not quite up to scratch with the rest of the hotel. However, we don’t go on holiday to sit in the room so it didn’t really matter - the view from our room (sea view room) was amazing! I would highly recommend this hotel, 10 minute walk to the port, lovely staff, beautiful surroundings.

Location was excellent really enjoyed the sea platform and staff were very helpful especially Giovanna on reception no matter what we asked of her she went above and beyond to make our stay special

The fact that there was no entertainment at night and also the fact that the shuttle service stopped at 4.30pm
