Hotel Continental Mare

The check-in process was quick and welcoming, and the complimentary gifts for special occasions were a sweet touch. Our room was conveniently located near the common areas, but being on the ground floor, it was damp and had noticeable odors coming from the kitchen. Beach towels, however, are not included and come at an extra cost. On the day of check-out, there is a €30 fee per person to continue using the facilities after 11:00 AM. Lunch offerings were below the island average. The beach isn’t too far, but there aren’t enough sun loungers or space, and no umbrellas are provided. On the day of departure, we were offered a taxi to the ferry port, but it turned out not to be a licensed taxi and charged us €20. Be prepared if you would like to enjoy the hotel after 11:00 AM to pay extra total 80 Euro including transfer.

Unfortunately the pier was closed when we were there which was a shame as it was a big reason why we booked here.

- exceptional views - staff extremely helpful - cleaning staff excellent - private beach is superb - courtesy shuttle bus to and from the port is very helpful - breakfast buffet was perfect

Only thing I would have liked to be done differently is a kettle to be in our room and the water flow was slighty weak but not an issue really

Wonderful stay at this lovely hotel- all of the staff are professional, helpful and friendly- the room views over mediterranean- breathtaking- food excellent- breakfast on patio lovely- dinner choices varied- pool and rest areas, lovely--wonderful small hotel- we will return--lots of hills and steps- not for those who are infirm- but we were fairly healthy 75 year old couple and no problems

We loved our stay and wish we could go back immediately. Beautiful property made of multiple buildings on a hill side. The room was comfortable with good AC and plenty of closet space. The included breakfast was excellent and had a lovely view (I especially appreciated the cappuccino the staff would bring out). Staff was very friendly and nice. We noticed a few ants near our doorway our first morning and the staff immediately took care of it. As other reviewers mentioned, there’s a path that takes you from the hotel into the port, which was very convenient. It is a bit of a climb so we made sure to stock up on water and snacks whenever we went down to explore/for dinner. Two pools, which we used quite a bit, both with gorgeous views. The ocean deck was unfortunately not open when we visited end of May, but there’s a small nearby beach along the path that takes you into town (about a 5-10 min walk) There’s also a bus stop at the top of the property (you can buy tickets from the front desk or at shops around the island), which made it easy to get around. We were able to leave our luggage in the lobby while we explored after check out, which was great. Highly recommend!
