The Higher Trapp Hotel

Fabulous sprawling grounds. Rooms comfy. Staff are really friendly and helpful especially bar/restaurant staff who brought sausages for the dogs breakfast!! Accommodate your requests and nothing is too much.

Not a lot - yes we know it’s slightly tired looking but hospitality and lovely staff More than make up for it.

It’s a beautiful location, near to where I grew up. It’s convenient for all the places I want/need to visit when I am in the area.

Our room was neglected from room service for no explainable reason. When we reported this to reception it was dealt with in a timely manner however. The menu is old and tired and has not been changed for many years. There are no enough vegetarian options available (1/12 items from starter/main course), no vegetarian burger options available. My Cheese & Onion Pie & Skin-On Chips looked like they had both been over baked. The vegetarian breakfast is bland and tasteless.

We always enjoy staying at The Higher Trapp hotel, but we were a little disappointed that the bird feeding table had disappeared from the terrace next to the restaurant. Maybe it will be replaced soon? The staff as always were friendly, efficient and helpful especially Debbie who is on breakfast time and remembered us from previous visits. Our room was lovely with a view of the garden. We had a small problem in the bathroom which was immediately fixed by maintenance man. The food in the restaurant was as good as ever, with plenty of choice and well presented. We a trip out on the middle day going to Lytham -st -Annes which lovely, returning to the hotel via Blackpool which is a bit of a dump now. We always have a lovely time at this hotel and I am sure we will return.

Unfortunately the room in Parker’s Lodge smelt funny (like wet dog) - thought maybe the carpets needed cleaning??? Mentioned it to Reception on departure.

We booked the all inclusive tub package for a last minute getaway and it was one of the most relaxing weekends we've ever had! Sheila and the team were so friendly and really made us feel special. It was very good value for money with all inclusive food and drink, which was quite a novelty! Would highly recommend if you're after a few days away from everything in a beautiful location!

OUTSTANDING yet again, went for my 75th birthday on a 4 day hot tub all inclusive break took 2 rooms in the annex rooms 26 family & 30 wheelchair access with walk in shower well what can we say but thank you to everyone for a great stay, food outstanding, thanks Sam all 4 days only concern was no candle in my second piece of cheese cake( Hannah) on Sunday 28September my 75th birthday never mind at least my sister got 3 candles on her chocolate cake for her 73rd.Thanks Angel. Must say a BIG thank you to Jamie & wish you all the best on the next stage of your career look after yourself and thanks its been a pleasure knowing you. We initally visited the Higher Trapp at an open day and met Megan, the events coordinator, who was extremely knowledgeable. Once we decided to book, we secured our date with Megan who was always on hand to offer support throughout the build up to our special day, which was really reassuring. On the day of our wedding, we were lucky with the weather and were able to be married at the pagoda in the hotel's beautiful gardens with views across the Ribble Valley. Our guests praised the service of the staff and the quality of the food, which was superb (especially the braised blade of beef!). Hannah and Jamie managed our day brilliantly, they were fantastic - friendly, attentive and nothing was ever too much trouble. We're extremely grateful to all at the Higher Trapp for being so amazing and seemlessly running our day, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment!

Went there Saturday 4th October for a wedding. The venue is very nice and charming. Lots of parking for guests and pleasant rooms.However the food was only just ok.The pork tough and mash tasteless.Staff trying there best but the manageress was pushy with them.Not enough staff to be behind the bar and serve.A little bit disorganised. The photographer was brilliant and organised. The dj also was good .I would not go there again.
