The Higher Trapp Hotel

Had a lovely night away at The Higher Trapp with their “Night Away” deal. They have maintained the old wooden panelling and staircase which gives the hotel its charm, along with plush leather furniture and sweeping chandeliers. Parts of the hotel may feel tired, but I believe it adds to the charm of a hidden away place at the top of a hill with a crackling fire. Our room was a standard double room, simple and efficient. We had an eve in meal at Fitzy’s restaurant which was lovely - fresh made Cheese and Onion pie with homemade potatoes! The dessert was also gorgeous - we had a chocolate cake and sticky toffee pudding. In the evening we relaxed in the Lounge, playing games and relaxing in the atmosphere. The breakfast in the morning was filling, with a continental table serving pastries and cereals, along with a hot cooked breakfast. It was a lovely stay for an affordable price, would recommend.

We got married here on The 14th November. The venue is absolutely beautiful although the weather wasn't on our side 😞. Megan's organisation skills were brilliant. Hannah was absolutely amazing during the day /evening made sure that everything was perfect,along with Sheila and Donna the dream team, along with all the other staff who did a fantastic job also. The food was absolutely perfect, everyone was raving how good it was, The service was absolutely flawless couldn't ask for any better. We had the most fantastic day and we would highly recommend this venue and the amazing staff. We was surrounded with the most amazing hotel and it's stunning grounds!. Went to a Fantastic family wedding.Everything was perfect, rooms, food ,staff, bars , entertainment. We took over the whole hotel,50 during day and further 50 evening guests .The management and all the staff were magnificent particular thanks to Donna, Hanah And Sheila cant mention all but once again thank you for a perfect day

All inclusive break - we booked with little expectation under £150 for 2 which included afternoon tea, evening meal, drinks and breakfast. The hotel is tired and was fairly empty however, it was clean and very welcoming. The staff were delightful and really did look after us. The food was good and the drinks flowed well too. This is not 5 star luxury but it is a nice place for a little break and excellent value for money too. The location is also beautiful with stunning views across Pendle hills.

We went as a cosy night away for our birthdays and booked tha all inclusive drinks package with evening meal the meal was delicious and plentiful but the drinks package was ok for me as I drink spirits but the lager on tap for the all inclusive was Bud Light and would need to upgrade for anything else now no where in any of the emails was this disclosed . The rooms dated but clean the bath room needs a total overhaul whilst on the loo your legs are under the sink 🤣🤣 and the shower/bath could do with regrouting The rooms are kept quite hot so we struggled to sleep and left before reception opened so can’t comment on breakfast but have heard it’s lovely

Friendly staff and nice decor in communal areas. Lovely peaceful spot on top of the hill.

Rooms were dated and in need of a refresh. Some areas of the room were not the cleanest but mainly because of the age of the decor rather than bad cleaning.
