"Perfect 2 night stay"

10.0

We stayed 2 nights in a executive room. All inclusive ultra food and drink a plenty. Room was lovely in a beautiful setting, staff were friendly, attentive and polite. Holly, Georgia and Amber worked very hard and nothing was too much trouble for them, they are all assets to the team. We had a lovely time in the wild wood hot tub. We will definitely be returning again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

"Higher Trapp - more like Middle Trapp"

6.0

This is a hotel where you either don't care about potholes, or you have a 4x4 in order to get there. Not the fault of the hotel, but be warned! We booked, having seen an advert for a £99 deal for Dinner, Bed & Breakfast online. The deal included a £25 allowance for the evening meal and a bottle of wine. However, we noticed there was a chance to join their free membership club, which gave a £35 meal allowance and a free gift upon arrival. Sorted; we'll join! So, we parked up and made our way into a well lit, open and inviting reception. Sorry, the receptionist claimed, but you only get the £25 allowance. To get the £35 deal, we needed to pay £139 for the stay and we don't get the bottle of wine! After having taken 20min to navigate the website in the first place, is it any wonder that everything was in a muddle?! As a compromise, we were told we could still have the free gift. Anyway, we were told how to get to our room (the annex at the other end of the car park). The room itself was spacious, with plenty of space for clothes storage. There was a well-stocked tray with a kettle, cups and drinking glasses. In the bathroom, there was a bath with a shower attachment, sink, toilet and a heated towel rail - all good so far. But then we start to go downhill. The evening meal was nice but very pricey. We had to wait 20min after having our plates cleared before we were able to get the attention of one of the waiting staff to order dessert. After heading back to our room, the door key didn't work, so I had to return to reception to get it sorted. My husband visited the bathroom but burned his knee on the heated towel rail. We had pulled the blind down at the door, but it is so far away from the door that light came through all night, not helped by having a mirror by the door which reflected the light! Because there was no grab rail on either the wall or on the bath, my limited-mobility husband wasn't able to have a shower. When we checked out, we still did not receive our free gift! Oh, I forgot breakfast. The waitress, Debbie, deserves special mention. She had the buffet laid out, took our orders and served us quickly and efficiently. She brought us ketchup and brown sauce without any fuss or bother and she seems genuinely pleased to be at work. The restaurant looked over the garden area. Obviously this didn't look at its best in February, but I'm sure in the summer months this would be stunning. Sorry, Higher Trapp, but you did not provide a very good service. There was no place on your website in order to ask for a room that is suitable for those with mobility issues.

"The Lavender Hotel to Avoid"

2.0

This is the Black sheep of Lavender hotels. If this had been my first visit to a lavender hotel it would have been my last and I will not return to Higher Trapp. On arrival we were told we were in an annexed. This should have been shown when booking but was not. We had to pay more to stay in the main hotel. The service was awful from ordering food to its arrival was 1 hour and 10 minutes not what you expect from a restaurant with half the tables empty. On booking you are promised a free gift at check in but the staff know nothing about this. I have used all the Lavender hotels and this one is clearly bottom of the list.

"Screams not dreams unfortunatly"

7.0

Food was good ,loved the location. Liked the seates area outside the restaurant

I am going to be honest. The walls between the rooms at the innkeepers lodge are so thin. I was awoken at 1am by two ladies nextdoor shouting and having an intimate❤️ 1/2hr shall I call it. Not a normal girls night out.! They kept the tv for another 1/2hr after and carried on talking loudly. and giggling. Enjoyed the stay and only criticism
