Mata Rocks Resort

The property was small with a pool and bar which was what we were looking for. The property was sold and that was finalized during our stay. The rooms, pool, and beach were is disrepair presumably because the sellers didnt want to spend any more money but the poor staff had to do their best with no supplies. Bar was out of beer and bottled water. The menu was limited with many items not available. The pool deck and bottom of the pool were chipped up and needed painting. The beach was highly eroded behind the seawall and covered in trash. The room had mold growing on the walls and no wifi. The bathroom had a dispenser in the shower for soap, shampoo, and conditioner. One was empty, one was broken, and one worked. Again, the staff was great and they were doing the best they could with what they had.

This is not a resort. It’s a Hotel/Motel with a bar that has limited hours. The MATA Rocks website is outdated and borders on false advertising. There is No restaurant on-site, no bikes, no in room coffee (and the bar doesn’t make or provide coffee until after 7:30am). The pool is in serious need of a renovation and is extremely uninviting. The sea wall is covered by sea grass and trash and there pier is unusable. Luckily we had access to the hotel pier next door. This property needs some TLC to get repeat customers and/or recommendations. The STAFF was FABULOUS. Brian and team did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

Bryen the manager is very friendly. Ask him for something, and he will get it done. Only issue I had here is that the hot water for the shower didn't work. Javier and Eric who worked the bar and little kitchen were great and fun to talk to.

The staff made sure we had what we wanted and needed. They gave excellent service. WiFi was very poor connectivity in the rooms.

The rooms were a bit too small for me and the place needs some updating but everything else was good.they were very friendly and accommodating.

This resort is decent. The staff are excellent—very friendly and professional. However, the room needs some updates, as the sinks are very old and need replacement. The entire resort could use a refresh. Security is good, so you feel safe. There can be some noise early in the morning. Overall, it's not a bad place to stay.
