Clarion Collection Carmel Oaks Inn

The room was clean and comfortable. Spacious shower too. The breakfast was good (yogurt, fruit, granola bars, packaged muffin, cereal and milk), and we appreciated it being left for us the night before since we were leaving early in the morning. It was nice to have parking right below our door. Honestly, I was pretty skeptical about this place after reading the reviews when booking (I'm someone who usually tries to stay in 4 star hotels when I can and really values cleanliness and safety), but we were on a tight budget so we booked it hoped for the best. It completely exceeded my expectations!! We had no issues with the room. I also was a little freaked out about the "extra" charges after the stay, which I had read about online, which I believe were just for the deposit and another fee. However, after the visit, I just waited a day or two and the charges were refunded without me having to do anything. Everything I was worried about from reading other reviews was completely fine! Great stay overall!!

The room did feel a little crammed and the desk with appliances felt like it was just kind of thrown together. Parking was hard to find at certain times of day, but we just parked on the street when it wasn't available. There was a big event going on in the town, so that made parking a little tricky, but it cleared up when it was over. It was a little noisy when people walked past our room, but that didn't happen very often, maybe twice. The staff weren't overly friendly, but they were helpful.

A picnic basket with lots of food was delivered to our door each morning. Cereal, milk, fruit, sweet roll, yogurt & snack bar for each person! It was great!

The heating and A/C unit was difficult to regulate because it didn't seem to match the temperature set. After the first day we had it figured.

NOTHING! The room was ugly, old, dark, and depressing. We didn't stay because it was so awful. there were no cars in the parking lot. It was as though it had been abandoned. We asked for another room, but we weren't accommodated.

The room had only one bed, but we had booked two beds. There was no AC. One ceiling fan didn't work and the other one was weak. The toilet was dirty. There was no elevator and my cousin uses a cane. it was like a Motel 6 or worse.

The location is perfect. The room size and amenities were perfect for us. Nice pillows and bed. Great shower and water pressure. Front staff was nice.

Our room was always very warm. We did not have the heater on at all. We had the ceiling fan on the whole time and the bathroom window opened the whole time. And when we were inside not sleeping, we opened the big window, but we couldn't leave that window open the whole time because there's no screen. The warmth in the room made it hard to sleep and be fully comfortable in. Also, the clock was an hour behind and I couldn't find a way to fix it.

The beds were hard and slightly uncomfortable

Very clean, great location, beautiful area and very cute property.

Don’t accept dogs

Good location.

Walls need better soundproofing. Bed was ok but not all that comfortable.
