We arrived early and were informed that our room would not be ready until 3pm (not a problem) When we were shown to the room, none of our luggage had arrived with us, so we had to go back and locate it ourselves — not something I would expect from a 5-star hotel. Upon arrival we were also told that the spa facilities and indoor pool required advance booking, with a maximum usage time of one hour per person per day. In addition, the indoor pool cannot be used by children under four. None of this information is clearly stated on the hotel’s website. When we did use the spa facilities, we were underwhelmed as both the Roman and Turkish baths were not working. A key reason we chose this hotel was because we were travelling in March with two children under three and the hotel advertises both an indoor pool and a heated outdoor pool. Unfortunately, the outdoor heated pool was too cold for my one-year-old to use, and my older child only managed about half an hour. It felt only slightly warmer than the non-heated pool. The room itself was fine. However, shortly after checking in on Thursday I accidentally knocked over and broke a wine glass. We called reception to ask for housekeeping assistance but no one ever arrived, so I cleaned it up myself and placed the broken glass in a plastic bag in the kitchen sink. That bag remained there until after 4pm on Saturday, which was the only time housekeeping visited our room during our stay. The room was reasonably clean and appeared to have been recently repainted. However, the new rugs placed in the lounge and bedroom prevented most of the shutters from closing fully, meaning we were woken early by sunlight each morning. I will say that the breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately, aside from that, the overall experience did not feel like a 5-star stay. When returning home, I noticed they had tried to charge the card on file 3 times for the stay, despite checking out and settling our balance. The stay itself had been booked, and was to be paid/had been paid via our travel agent.

Excelente Hotel para quem procura uma estadia de luxo. Muito bem localizado, fomos numa altura do ano mais calma por isso tivemos uma estadia tranquila. Quartos maravilhosos, casa de banho excelente.

La décoration, l’emplacement, la propreté

We stayed at this hotel many many times between 2 to 4 times per year over the years. It is a place we will continue to return hopefully for many more years to come. It is undoubtedly the welcoming and service provided by the staff that brings us back to this hotel over and over again. Nothing is too much for them. Unfortunately this time we were in a room that seems to have some cooking smell coming from the a/c! We did mentioned of this to a member of staff and was offered a move to another room if one was available. We declined this as we were only there for a few days and didn’t want the hassle of moving room. Maintenance team was sent to investigate but to no avail. In hindsight we should have moved as the smell was getting worse at the end of our stay. This DOES NOT affect our opinion of the hotel. Now for the positive we had an absolutely fabulous meal in the Topos restaurant and fantastic service from the staff. It was one of the best meal we had in the hotel. Will definitely be book again next time we visit. Lastly the staff in the restaurant during breakfast also very friendly and efficient. I would recommend this hotel even though of the slight hiccup with the cooking smell Cannot wait for my next visit
