"Wonderfully comfortable."

10.0

Not many lodging sites turn out to be better than the photos, but this is a true exception. Every aspect of our stay was excellent. The facility was warm and inviting as we arrived late on a cold night. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the atmosphere throughout the building was spot on. We will return again next summer and look forward to staying longer. While they do not offer daily meal service there is a great spot (Nola's) next door for dinner and the Back Street Café on block away serves great meals for adults and children.

"Charming hotel particularly in the late fall. "

10.0

Stayed here during late fall to see the water fowl migrating south at horicon marches. Room was charming and each floor has a large seating area with comfortable couches. The food is Also very good. No need to go outside the hotel in the evening.

"Great hotel for business travelers"

8.0

PROS: I stayed in Mayville to conduct business with Dodge County in nearby Juneau. The antique-style furnishings were well maintained and added a charm to the hotel. The hotel sound system featured light-rock selections, and my room had a hot tub in which to unwind. There were a wide variety of music genre selections available in my room. These all combined to make my return from my business day something to to which I could look forward. The attached restaurant (NOLA) was equally charming, and provided a high-end dining experience. Meals began with some lavosh with honey-butter, and featured cajun-style cooking. Wait staff and wine selection were excellent. CONS: Parking was limited to availability on the street. Otherwise you had to park a block away.

"Great historic ambiance"

8.0

The hotel was very historic and the rooms were done nicely for the era they were trying to keep them in. If you want sleek & modern, this is not the place for you, but if you want more turn of the century style this offers that in a very elegant tone! The NOLA Restaurant has wonderful food and ambiance. The bar is not open late, but there are a few local 'watering holes' that are open normal bar times. The buffet is a little bit of a splurge, but if you go around 10:30 you'll get to enjoy a bit of the breakfast food and then at 11:00 they changed over to lunch, which was equally wonderful! The chef came out and talked to us a bit as well, which is wonderful to see! The Bloody Mary's (in my opinion) were quite good, but admittedly they said people either love them or hate them. They are a bit on the spicy side.
