Hotel is in a beautiful historic hotel building. It has been updated and remodeled, enhancing the historic theme. Suite was clean and comfortably large with all desired amenities and a very comfortable bed. Restaurant is quite good with a reasonably varied menu. The staff in lobby greeted us warmly and was very helpful. Parking was on side street but was no issue.

Picked this hotel on a recent drive through WI because of its uniqueness and the restaurant/bar sounded like something we'd enjoy. We were informed upon arrival the restaurant area was closed for a private party, so we were on our own to find dinner in Mayville - not exactly a happening town on a Saturday night. We were also told to come down for breakfast in the morning, which we thought meant it was included. Looking at the website, we realized there was an extra charge which we thought was $10 per room. When my husband inquired about it, no it was $10 per person, but we decided to pay it since we were there. We get to breakfast only to discover the fee didn't cover breakfast - we were told to order off the menu and they would deduct $20 from the bill. So we paid $20 simply to get a $20 voucher. The food was excellent but we would have been much happier if they would have been upfront on their "B & B" package. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and we liked our room. The heat vents in the bedroom were quite loud and the bed was extremely squeaky but we did enjoy the ambiance of the hotel.

This place has a great history, it was renovated in the 80's and could use a few touch up's now. I got a two room suite and the bedroom had no tv. Really, no tv. Overall nice, but no tv, really no tv.
