The perfect place from which to explore pondicherry Very comfortable and great hospitality Plenty of choices for food and Friendly staff specially Kamini , suman , priya , vicky , hema , team were outstanding .I love dimsums and mango with sticky rice ,The hotel is very near to beach and found best view by the restaurant to beach.

A few days ago, during our trip to Pondicherry, we visited Bay of Buddha restaurant in White Town for make our trip romentic and special. The location is beautiful, right near the beach. When we arrived, the restaurant was fully packed. However, the lady manager, Ms. Kamini Sharma, assisted us wonderfully. On our request, she managed to arrange a table for us even during the peak hours by thoughtfully shifting arrangements, something we truly can’t forget.We enjoyed the Veg/Non-Veg Signature Menu which included starter , main course, and dessert mongo one with sticky rice . The veg soup was the perfect start, followed by delicious Dimsim. For the main course, we had mushrooms with dried chili and cashew nuts served with steamed rice—it was absolutely delightful. We ended with a lovely dessert that perfectly completed our meal. Special thanks to Ms. Kamini Sharma and her team for their excellent and heartfelt service. The staff was polite, attentive, and always welcoming with smiles. The chef’s presentation and the food flavors made our evening truly memorable.

The Promenade, a HiDesign hotel, is among the rare few in Pondicherry’s White Town that gazes upon the sea in timeless stillness. I find myself returning to it time and again—this recent visit marked my eighth in fifteen years—drawn back to the same corner of the French Quarter after a delightful 270-kilometer drive from my home in Bangalore. The Bay of Bengal along India’s eastern coastline reveals its beauty in many forms: its vast, azure sweep, its teeming marine life, its tranquil beaches, and its enduring role as both livelihood and historical trade route. In Pondicherry, that beauty is heightened by radiant sunrises, unspoiled sands, and the striking juxtaposition of rugged black rocks against the placid sea—an ever-changing view framed perfectly by the French windows of my room. Here, the coastline offers serene waters suited to leisure, scenic promenades such as the one at my hotel, and dawns so mesmerizing that they seem almost otherworldly. The Promenade itself is a four-star, sea-facing boutique hotel, owned by the Hidesign group and managed by Sarovar, set enviably on Beach Road in White Town. Its unmatched location ensures effortless access to fashionable boutiques, beloved cafés, and Pondicherry’s renowned culinary scene. Within, it offers a rooftop and lounge restaurant, a well-curated cocktail bar, a charming swimming pool, a pizzeria, and a massage parlour. The property is distinguished not only by its amenities but also by its meticulous upkeep, the soothing sense of order and calm that contrasts gently with the bustle of the city beyond. In essence, The Promenade embodies refined seaside luxury. The true highlight, however, lies in its people. The staff are unfailingly courteous, professional, and attentive, making each stay seamless and memorable. I must especially mention Ms. Kamini Sharma, the newly appointed F&B manager, whose elegance and warmth were matched by her exceptional care. She went to great lengths to ensure the comfort of my octogenarian mother, attending to every detail with genuine thoughtfulness. And while the hospitality alone would be reason enough to return, I confess I would journey back for the bakery in particular. Their rum raisin and almond biscotti left me so enchanted that I carried home a dozen, a sweet keepsake for midnight indulgence as I pen this reflection.

The service of the attenders and also the other people were good and well mannered. Patchaiyandi and Karthik nice work done . The cleaning facility knows how to speak english and also serves with patience . Overall, it's a good resort for it's ambience and outlook too!!

We stayed for two nights and had really mixed views of the hotel. Before arrival the hotel was helpful in arranging transport from Chennai airport and on arrival staff were helpful in getting our cases from the taxi to the hotel as the road directly outside was closed. But at reception there was a feeling of slight chaos and the check-in staff being surly and unfriendly. Our room on the top floor was large and had a great view of the beach and lighthouse, but the room just felt a bit tired and in need of a refurbishment. The room was right next to the rooftop bar and restaurant so we were worried about there being a lot of noise, but at night it was surprisingly quiet and the bed was really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was very good and the staff were really good. Location of the hotel is great - right on the promenade and in the heart of the French Quarter. At check-out, we were again faced with a feeling of chaos and it took quite a while to pay the bill. On balance we would recommend the hotel if staying in Pondicherry but just don't expect a five star luxury experience.

Presently staying in Promenade typing to rest after a hot morning sightseeing. Trying to sleep but next to impossible since some drilling going on right above our heads in the rooms above and a constant noisy hum from some genset outside.Had high hopes of enjoying a great stay here but extremely disappointed. Requested for room change but the hotel Staff does not care.Reccomend to choose other properties in the same room tariff with mush better service.
