The Promenade Pondicherry

The staff was extremely hospitable . Room was spacious with a good beach view . Food was excellent, they have a terrace roof top restaurant with an excellent view & food . Would really recommend this hotel that has the best of location , service , food . I would say that my stay was worth in Pondi because of the Hotel as this made all the difference . Cudos to the excellent service the hotel provided . They even gave a complimentary birthday cake that added to the celebrations. There roof top restaurant overlooks the beach .

A perfect place for vacation right next to beach . Mr . Prabhu allocated beach view room and took care of the stay . Kids friendly place .

The Promenade is very centrally located on the Beach Road. Excellent food and wide variety. Staff is efficient and professional. Worth a visit for a meal or few nights stay.

Staff were very polite and efficient especially Dikhee who took extra care. Food experience at both the outlets in the hotel are very good. Location is excellent. Beds need an upgrade at the price point. Intercom lines need to be functioning properly. Overall a satisfactory experience.

Overall condition is good! Access to the beach was an added attraction. Lack of parking is a handicap!

Food at the Bay of Buddha was excellent from starters to main course. Our hostess, Cinderella was wonderful. She was pleasant and communicative, considerate and caring. And also honest to tell us that the food we ordered was sufficient. Finally we had to pack a bit of the food. Thank you.

The Promenade stands out for its unbeatable location—right on the beach and walking distance from all major attractions in White Town. Probably the best spot in Pondicherry if you want the sea at your doorstep. The morning breakfast was truly enjoyable, with a wide and tasty spread. We didn’t hesitate to pay a premium for the experience. That said, a few things did not meet expectations. There’s no gym or game room, and the swimming pool is quite small. Early check-in was not allowed; we were told rooms wouldn’t be available before 2 PM due to occupancy, which we accepted. However, the next morning we were called at 10:55 AM and asked to check out within 5 minutes or pay extra—even for just an hour’s delay. Though we weren’t eventually charged, the tone and rigidity were disappointing. Having travelled across 17–18 countries, I can say even cheaper hotels (in terms of Indian currency) in Europe showed more flexibility. A little buffer or early notice at check-in would have made a big difference. Also, our room faced a broken property, and the sea-view upgrade cost ₹3000 more—which we opted out of. Staff were polite and professional, but I sincerely hope the management reconsiders some of their hospitality policies. Would consider coming back, but with clearer expectations next time.

This place is located on the best beach and is close from all the good places in pondy ! Little far from auroville but if you want to see and feel the french colony feeling then this area is the best and this particular hotel is the best one ! Right on the beach, over looking the ocean !

They have different types of rooms. Very small to very big room. Mattress is too small. I was offered a small room upon check-in. I requested for a room change and they did it immediately with a premium category roon with a king size Mattress. Staffs were polite and friendly. Good choice of Cocktails. Good food too.
