Overly obsequious but not kind or friendly. Unreliable shuttle bus into Sorrento. Noisy road, noisy hotel (musical entertainment goes on even when no one is listening/watching).

Localizado no alto de uma colina, relativamente próximo do centro de Sorrento. Embora não seja possível ir caminhando para a cidade, o hotel oferece um serviço de Van gratuito de hora em hora. Possui estacionamento dentro da propriedade. O quarto em que nos hospedamos não era muito amplo, mas com tamanho suficiente para abrir as malas. Havia uma pequena varanda lateral com um pequeno varal que permitia pendurar roupas para secar. A varanda não tinha vista pois estava em frente a uma parede branca, mas ajudava a ventilar o ambiente. O café da manhã era servido num restaurante com uma vista belíssima para o mar e boa variedade de itens disponíveis no buffet. Possui uma bela piscina com bar. Jantamos uma noite no restaurante do hotel, nesta noite havia um jantar especial e vários hóspedes compareceram, um ambiente bem agradável com boa comida e bons vinhos com preços honestos. Sorrento é a cidade perfeita para ficar como base para visitar a Costa Amalfitana. No porto de Sorrento há serviços de barcos conectando com Positano, Amalfi, Capri e até mesmo Nápoles (além de estação de trem conectando com Nápoles, Pompéia e outras cidades da região). Além disso, o centro de Sorrento conta com vários restaurantes e muito comércio. Ir de carro à Costa Amalfitana é uma experiência belíssima com vistas de tirar o folego, porém um pouco estressante pois a estrada é muito estreita, com vários pontos onde só passa um carro além de ser dificílimo de conseguir estacionamento - em Positano é praticamente impossível estacionar. Em Amalfi e Ravello há estacionamentos públicos, mas lotam rápido. Fizemos 1 dia de carro até Ravello com parada em Amalfi. Para Positano fomos de barco (cerca de 1 hora de viagem - 22 Euros).

A experiência foi muito boa, só um pequeno problema com o motorista da Van - chegamos no horário correto para embarcar, mas pelo relógio dele estávamos 1 min atrasados e por isso teríamos que esperar 1 hora para a próxima viagem pois a viagem das 09:15h não seria feita. Foi feita uma reclamação na recepção do hotel e a viagem feita imediatamente, ou seja não teria sido necessário este contratempo se o motorista tivesse um pouco mais de treinamento e bom senso.

The staff at la solara are exceptional. The customer service is unequalled. The front desk was courteous and knowledgeable. The restaurant is outstanding. First class service and cuisine. The rooms are spotless with large modern bathrooms. The public areas are quiet and comfortable. I highly recommend the la Solara

We spent a week there in September . We booked a family room for myself, husband and adult daughter. The room was ok for 2 people but never a family room . We were claustrophobic and spent the first few days in discomfort. Not what we expected at all . Despite what they kept telling us , the bed was smaller than a usual bed . She is 5 ft 6 and slight . You would need to be 4 ft at best . The rep was absolutely useless. When I asked what happens if very tall people stay there such as Danish people . Her response was Danish people do not go to Sorrento. The hotel is clean but no frills definitely not what we call 4 star but 3 star at best . It’s a Best Western which is not made clear on the TUi info . The hotel and TUi could have put this right but they chose not to. In the end we paid for another room and left my daughter in the first room but by then the holiday was ruined . We thought by booking with TUI there was a safety net but actually I won’t bother in the future. To summarise the quality of the hotel was misrepresented , the family room was not big enough and the bed was not a full size single bed

A bit late to the party with this review but just wanted to add to the wealth of positive reviews. We stayed here at the end of April; my partner having booked it for my birthday. We arrived at Naples airport on a public holiday and the journey to the hotel (bus transfer) took as long as the flight did. On arrival the luggage was taken off the bus by staff and carried up the hill for us. We were greeted with a glass of Prosecco and rather than go straight to the room we went straight out to the fabulous pool area and had a pizza, The staff here are exceptional - from the pool lifeguard, through the waiting an bar staff to the reception staff. We were half board - the evening meal is exceptional - choices of starters, mains and desserts. The wine list is extensive and if you have a bottle a don’t finish it the they will (if you don’t want to take it away and drink it in the bar or your room) save it for you. You have an allocated table for the evening meal but can sit anywhere for breakfast. Breakfast is buffet style and extensive. Bar prices and pool snacks are very reasonably priced. They put everything on the room and you settle the bill at the end of the stay. The hotel is a couple of miles outside of the centre of torrents (which is beautiful) but there is a free shuttle bus to and from the centre that is ALWAYS on time and runs every hour from about 10am ?from memory) until about 11pm. There is a lovely beach with a couple of Bars and restaurants a short walk away. Entertainment a couple of evening - very good. The rooms are spotlessly clean, cleaned daily and whilst dated they are clearly looked after with quality fittings. We genuinely couldn’t fault the place - a great place to explore the Amalfi coast a Pompeii. In that - the Amalfi coast trip that you can book through the hotel was the one we did - fantastic. We did Pompeii ourselves - shuttle bus and then the train. We did Capri through the tour operator but wouldn’t recommend that one. I wish we had gone with the one that the hotel can arrange for you - based on our Amalfi experience it will be much better value. We would 100% definitely return!

This Hotel was wonderful - it came highly recommended by friends and it did not disappoint. We booked half board and requested a double room with balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples. Every member of staff was so friendly, helpful and efficient. The entire Hotel was immaculately maintained and was spotless. The food in the delightful restaurant was superb with plenty of choice. The shuttle bus worked so efficiently and was comfortable. We travelled by train, ferry and bus all of which were very reasonably priced. The trips we did that the Hotel receptionists organised were excellent value and good. Swimming Pool area excellent. Thankyou to everyone at Hotel Solara.

We chose this hotel since the reviews were very good. We usually stay in the centre of Sorrento but wanted a different experience this time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and staff friendly. The hotel shuttle runs like clockwork. We particularly wanted a large pool for swimming but the pool was very cold. The breakfast was okay but not outstanding. However we were terribly disappointed by the evening meals, served mainly lukewarm. Unfortunately the gala dinner took over 2 hours to serve everyone which we felt was too long. The pool shades over rather early due to being up in the hills and we found there were a lot of mosquitos due to the shrubbery. Our room,whilst clean and the bed comfy, was dark and the lights for the balcony did not work so we could not sit out in the evening. There is nowhere to take a short walk unless you get the shuttle down to town. As per another review, the hotel should provide some bottled water which can be kept in the fridge. This would be in keeping with pretty much every hotel I’ve stayed at and particularly because there are no local shops to easily get to without getting the shuttle. In summary we felt the holiday was overpriced and the hotel underwhelming.
