Had the best time at Hotel Onda Verde. The hotel offers beautiful views, great food and amazing staff that go above and beyond from arranging transportation to being so helpful.

The rooms, the location, the ambiance, the food and our overall experience was wonderful. On our next trip to the Amalfi Coast we will once again stay here.

Onda Verde was unfortunately our least favorite stay of our entire trip to Italy. We stayed at four other hotels across the country, all of which were wonderful, but this property stood out for all the wrong reasons. From the moment we arrived, the experience felt uncomfortable. The man who greeted us, Giuseppe, made us feel incredibly uneasy. When we mentioned wanting to book massages at check-in, he checked the weather and dramatically insisted, “Madame, no, bad bad weather is coming,” as if a major storm was on the way. The next day ended up being fine—just a few hours of rain—so we easily could have gone through with the massages. When we checked back to rebook, we were told they were fully booked. They also never once acknowledged our honeymoon, which felt disappointing given that every other hotel we stayed at made an effort to do so. The room itself was a letdown. The porch opened onto a public staircase below where you could hear everything, so there was no privacy at all, and the bed was so uncomfortable that we could feel every spring. We did not sleep well a single night during our stay. Even something as simple as a poolside Caprese salad fell short—the tomatoes were completely unripe. The view from the hotel, however, was absolutely gorgeous. It’s worth noting for future travelers that while this isn’t the hotel’s fault, transportation in and out of Praiano is difficult and expensive. Cars to Amalfi or Positano are often over €100 each way, and the bus fills up quickly or sometimes isn’t running when you need it. Giuseppe made us feel so uncomfortable that we ended up avoiding the hotel amenities and lobby area altogether. It’s also worth clarifying for future travelers that the restaurant here is listed in the Michelin Guide but is not Michelin-starred. There’s a significant difference, and the marketing can be misleading. We left detailed feedback upon checkout and heard nothing back for almost a week. When I finally called the hotel directly, the person I spoke with said he would investigate and call me back. When he did, he said his staff had completely invalidated everything I had shared. Clearly, they value guest feedback very little. The setting itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, our experience with the property’s hospitality and comfort was deeply disappointing. We will not be returning to this hotel and will instead choose somewhere else to spend our €900 per night.

The hotel is amazing - looks just like what you see in the pictures. The most amazing sunrise views from the hotel terrace! Also, the staff is fantastic.
