Pousada Forte Horta

A stunning and well-preserved fort right in front of the sea with spacious and impeccably clean rooms with private balconies, an outdoor swimming pool, and a delicious breakfast with local products from the Azores.

Like the Pousada, We use them regularly. Great service from reception and breakfast.

Perfekt läge, bra service

Center of town. Location is excellent for boat or diving trips. Small historic property.

Rooms facing the back (not sea view) are very small. Sea view rooms are better. Breakfast is nice but could be improved. Did not offer early check in.

La situation de la pousada est idéale! Le long de la marina dans le centre ville. Pour ceux qui viennent en voiture, un parking gratuit se trouve devant la pousada. Le hall de la pousada est joli mais les chambres devraient être renovées (en tout cas la mienne au 1er étage côté rue). Une bouteille d'eau est mise à disposition. Le restaurant de la pousada est très bien. Le petit déjeuner, très varié, est servi dans une belle salle avec vue sur la piscine et le célébre Pico! Le personnel est très agréable, surtout la petite dame à la réception.

La salle de bain est un peu beaucoup vieillotte et sans charme. La sonorisation laisse un peu à désirer aussi, dont la fermeture de la porte de la chambre qui est assez bruyante.

This property is a 16th century fortress repurposed as a hotel. Our room had a view of the harbor and it was very entertaining watching the yachts come and go. Our room (#106) was large enough, nothing fancy, but had a relatively large balcony with table and chairs. The bathroom was a little tight. Our room had air conditioning which we used only at night. There has been some……. to the room and bath, …..: Service at the front desk was good, especially from Ricardo. The breakfast buffet was decent and they will make made to order entrees even though they don’t promote the service. There are some shortcomings. Twos. 1. While in our bathroom we could clearly hear conversations from the bathroom in the room directly above us and also noise from doors shutting, closets closing etc. in adjacent rooms and 2. the WiFi connection and throughput from our room was inconsistent. Also, there was quite a bit of mold in our bathtub - a pet peeve of mine. But in all, a great location and decent hotel.
