Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach

What I love about the Courtyard Waikiki Location, 3 blocks from the sand. Price, reasonable senior rate compared to others in this area. Room bed, comfortable and clean View, partial from 17th floor facing ocean, partial of ocean between buildings. What could be so much better? Room wasn’t ready, I checked in online the day prior and yes I arrived a tad early. To their credit they offered me a room in a back building till my room was ready (5 hrs later supposedly) Pool is closed for construction, alt offered a few blocks away. When 5 hrs was up, I went to front desk, apparently that room extended it’s stay, so they gave me a room, same floor 17 same building view of city, so it would be easier to switch next day. All rooms lack enough outlets. One last night had a power strip which helped, tonight’s and for next few nights, no power strip, front desk looks like they have no clue what one is and why I would need one? Target 5 blocks away and $10 solved that issue. This room has Heavy sliding glass doors to the balcony. Good quality, only issue is there is no handle on the outside of the door to get back in, so careful how you close it. Ice machine is on floor 2 outside, be nice to have known that. Toilet is not elongated, as it was in the non view room. Area is safe and close to the popular parts of Waikiki. Parking is valet only at $62 a night, so watch that gotcha.

The Courtyard Waikiki was fine for our purpose of being in convenient location and met our expectation of comfortable beds and cleanliness. We were not told in adv that the main pool was under construction, nor was the initial front desk clerk forthcoming re us being able to use the pool at their sister hotel 1 mile away, which was very nice. Walls pretty thin, able to hear neighbors. Luckily the a/c blocked out most of the noise. $35 daily destination fee seemed steep for what we got plus the place for the amenities was a solid 20min walk from the hotel.

Major construction happening, pool and Hot tub also under renovation. From 8am to 4p sounded like jack hammers in upper floors. Not able to rest. Rooms are super small, shower stall is like a small closet.

Good. It’s just that I booked for Queen size bed and they gave 2 full size beds and the shower area was a little bit smaller.

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but our stay at the Courtyard Marriott Waikīkī was absolutely awful from start to finish. First, the property is completely run down and under major construction, which we were not made aware of before booking. The pool was closed and unusable, and one of the buildings had no working elevators — completely unacceptable, especially for guests traveling with luggage or mobility concerns. The rooms were tiny, outdated, and dirty. The bathrooms were old, cramped, and badly in need of renovation. The bedroom was so small we could barely move around, and basic amenities like electrical outlets and lamps didn’t even work. On top of the terrible facilities, the staff was shockingly unprofessional. The front desk and manager were rude, dismissive, and totally unhelpful any time we raised concerns. Bell services were lazy, standing around on their phones instead of assisting guests with their bags. This is hands down one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had. The only thing good about this hotel is the location — but there are so many better options in Waikīkī. Save your money, your time, and your sanity and book somewhere else.

The pool and portions of the property were under construction. There was no place on property to get away from the drills, jackhammering, pounding, etc. until nighttime. Many people left for a different property according to the staff. It would have been good to know about the construction when we booked. As it is, we ended up paying full price for an uncomfortable week.

We weren’t happy with our overall stay here. The onsite pool is under construction! I wish they would have notified us or at least mentioned this on their website as this was the main amenity my family was interested in. We didn’t find out about this until we checked in. It felt a little deceiving, if we had known about this, we wouldn’t have stayed here.
