Courtyard by Marriott Waikiki Beach

Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of frustrating, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn future guests. The building was under renovation, and the constant sound of drilling and construction noise was unbearable throughout the day. It made it almost impossible to relax, let alone enjoy any downtime. To make matters worse, we were left without electricity for an entire day. The situation escalated when the main pipe burst, causing further inconvenience, and we were forced to move to another hotel overnight. What was most frustrating, however, was the way the staff handled everything (or rather, didn’t handle it). There was no communication from their end, and we weren’t informed of the issue until it was too late. We had to pack up all our luggage to shift to a new hotel, and when we asked if we could simply leave our bags behind and take only essentials for the night, the staff refused. Their lack of empathy and understanding of basic customer service was shocking. On top of that, the staff seemed disorganized, confused, and completely unprepared for dealing with an emergency like this, which should be a core expectation in any hospitality business. This experience was deeply disappointing, and I sincerely hope the management takes the necessary steps to improve their staff training and communication. As it stands, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

I would recommend this property. It’s convenient. Away from the hustle and bustle. Feels very comfortable.

Construction is going on in the hotel.

I’m disappointed in the location. I would have believed a Marriott world better amenities and welcoming. If it wasn’t for the fact it was Hawaii, this is the worst. TV didn’t work on my last day of my stay. The shower was not big enough for a 6’4 individual along with the small bathroom together: I felt claustrophobic. Hair on the floor and the door looks like it could be pried open with little or no resistance. Not what I was expecting or used to. Disappointed.

Pool was lovely. Shower was nice. However, some things worth mentioning. Rooms were super small, could barely get into it with bags. Doors were wooden and rotting apart. Hard to open. Our toilet wasn’t clean. Coffee maker didn’t work initially. They were doing construction the entire time we were there, so while trying to sleep, you constantly heard rattling and power tools. For over $240 a night it didn’t seem worth it to me. Probably would go somewhere else next time.

traveling on business to Honolulu, be alert that many hotels charge "resort fees" that will never be used, i.e. beach chairs, sun lotion, etc...this is an unfortunate tax that needs to be an option not a requirement hotel advertises fitness center but it is "under construction"...option is a 15 minute walk to another hotel..and desk clerk stating "it will be a good warmup"

Was in a prime location in Waikiki. Very convenient and comfortable place to stay. I will return again.

TEENY tiny rooms and super small bathrooms in an older hotel. The bathroom and shower were smaller than the last cruise ship we stayed on. No welcome drinks or perks for Bonvoy elite members, we were charged $25 for an early check in. Very disappointing for a Marriott property, we just checked out of the Marriott Courtyard in Kona on the beach which I HIGHLY recommend - the two properties couldn’t be more polar opposites.

Do not stay here I am currently here and they are under construction. No where on their website is it posted and upon check in its not posted either. Construction begin about 9:15am so even if you wanted to you can't sleep in.

Rooms could use an upgrade but worked for my needs
