Monica Isabel Beach Club

The apartments are really spacious and comfortable , no their not 5* but their not meant to be. The hotel bar is a tad expansive but there are loads of local bars within 2 mins walk. The beach nearby (Praia Azul) is absolutely stunning, and within walking distance of fishermans square in the Old Town. All in all an absolute bargain, will definitely stay there again.

Old but well maintained building but facilities are not up to satisfaction of their guests.food outlets needs to be upgraded and kitchen brigade can make the food tastier and better presented with same ingredients if management aiming to bring up the standards of their hotel brand. Pool and beach facilities needs urgent update, cheap operation approach should not be the company policy. All staff looks like fed up and management team is not visible so that guest doesn't feel sure if gets quality service. Managment needs to review policies and upgrade the service quality.

There are 2 parts to the accomodation; the hotel and apartments in block complex. I stayed in an apartment which had the basics. The apartment is close to the beach and the swimming area. The Hotel is rated 4 stars and the apartments are rated 3 stars. The entertainment area is close to the apartments. The sound is unbearably loud in the evening up until 11 pm. With small kids this is v.inconvenient. I can't imagine how the guest at the hotel coped. The sound system is literally on the ground floor of the hotel. More serious problem is rats found on the lower parts of the apartment complex. We were lucky that our flat was on the first floor. Despite cleaning staff availability, there was overflowing bins in the swimming area; the floors around the swimming pool had kids and adults slipping and hurting themselves. The staff were aware but were helpless not to even put warning signs or advise guests. The hotel is in great location and perhaps many years ago was great place but lack of care, modernising has shameful turned it into a damp. I will not be staying there again paricularly since there are many more options and most definitely better options in around the area full of aparments and hotels.

The Hotel is a complex of different buildings set over a large area, we were in Block C, view of sea from terrace was obscured by a tree. It was a a reasonable walk to the main building for the bar and restaurant. Pool Area separate to main Hotel, smaller than anticipated. Room basic enough with aged decor and furniture, but had beds & good shower in the bath. Steep walk back from the beach but only needed to do once a day so a bit of exercise. Location great for beach. Restaurant nearby very nice. Bar further up the road ok. Near enough to get to either New Town & Old Town for walk or cheap taxi.

I loved how the resort is right on the beach. It was a little hard to find as you have to drive down narrow roads to get to it. Almost missed entrance as the lobby sign is not very visible. Was received with a warm welcome. Was given a black and white pamphlet that provided some information about resort such as pool hours, breakfast, lunch and dinner times, and mini bus times to Old Town. It also included an area map and a map of the resort. Lastly an excursion list. I was taken to my room. My room was spacious and had an ocean view balcony. Bedroom included a full size and twin bed. There was a sofa bed in the living area. Had a sink and refrigerator with a table as well. Closet space was decent. Large bathroom. Front door had a crack in which sunlight came through. Decent room but could use a facelift. All inclusive gave me access to a large selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also included snack at pool snack bar and drink at Bar Atlantico. There are water stations in different areas of resort. Pool area gets packed very quickly at 9 when it opens. At the beach they charge 10€ for 2 chairs and an umbrella. The area is absolutely gorgeous.

Sad sad sad looking hotel. Terrible rooms, very old and ugly. Uncomfortable beds and pillows, no decent bedding.

The location of this hotel is great. It is right on the beach and half way between the old and new town. We only stayed or 4 nights, so feel it is not fair to give full review. Staff seemed friendly. Room was basic and almost clean. You have to hire safe, iron and hairdryer. We were out almost 80 euro before we started. I selected bed and breakfast even though this is an all inclusive resort. The food at breakfast was awful. We didn't go back after the first day. Because we were only there for a short period, it was ok. we never used the hotel pool as it was so busy, we spent our days at the beach which was perfect.

The apppartment was clean and spacious. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. There was a good variety of food and drinks. There were however the following downsides: small swimming pool, limited fruits selection, one male bartender who were constantly unpleasant.

I stayed at Monica Isobel Beach for a long weekend with the girls recently (June 17). The accommodation was basic but clean and in my mind didn't justify a 4 * rating. On the plus side, the amenities were good and the hotel was well located with only a 10min walk into Albufeira old town. I would not want to stay at the hotel for longer than a few days however it was adequate for a long weekend

We had a wonderful week staying at the hotel. It is a large complex with the main hotel and several sections of self catering units which also have full use of the hotel facilities. We stayed on a half board basis and found the breakfast and dinner buffet excellent. The choice of food each day was huge, well prepared and tastefully presented. The staff were very friendly and courteous at all times. The entertainment was fine, catering for both children and later in the evening for adults. The outdoor pool has plenty of loungers but filled up quickly and was busy with children and also some water activities which would have made use of the pool limited. However we did not stay by the pool as the sandy beach is right beside the hotel and was superb with a pleasant walk to the old town. It was not overcrowded in the least and we had the choice of hiring loungers and umbrellas or just enjoying the sandy beach. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk along the beach to the old town. Alternatively it is possible to walk along the road to the old town. There is a small courtesy bus running from the hotel 3 times a day but we found it wasn't too punctual and on occasion there were too many people to fit in the minibus. 'The Strip' is about 20 minutes walk in the opposite direction We had a wonderful relaxing and happy time with good, clean but a bit dated accommodation. The sea views from the balcony were breathtaking. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it.
