Amazing dog friendly room with gated yard for off leash time. Park across the street from street. Everything walkable. The real stars of this place are the wonderful staff. Absolutely attentive and problem solving. And accommodating. Comfy bed and sheets. Lovely breakfast.

Not sure why this isn’t a four star boutique Hotel. We were immersed in thorough luxury.. The staff is over and above friendly. The food and room were excellent! We would totally recommend this property to everyone!

20 South Battery is the quintessential Charleston mansion. What makes this place stand apart is the grandest of yesteryear and the warmest hospitality driven by the manager Abigail and her team. Each day there is a complimentary breakfast and evening cocktail hour where you can meet other guests. The hotel is exquisitely restored, and graciously appointed , Rooms are spacious and delightful. It is a great location across from the water and a quick walk to all the amazing restaurants.. We plan to come back again and again .

My husband and I stayed in the lower portion of the house where the old kitchen used to be. Not only was it pretty secluded, it was beautiful! We took the house tour with Abby and she was just AMAZING! Abby gave us so many incredible facts about the mansion and the surrounding property with such eagerness and so sincerity. Abby was an absolute pleasure. Also, when our pizza from another local establishment was horrid and burnt, Abby brought us some charcuterie to our room!! Just an overall amazing experience staying with everyone at 20 S Battery!! Would recommend to anyone! ♥️

Staff was friendly

We were very disappointed . The facility was under repair and major construction. We would not have stayed there if we were aware. 2nd the room was very small and did not look anything like the pictures on the website. We were deceived.

I was initially a bit, turned off by all the rules and regulations sent when I made the reservation, but these concerns turned out to be unfounded. We were greeted warmly and helpfully at the desk when we arrived several hours before official check-in and were immediately taken to our room. We were given dinner recommendations along with a delicious charcuterie assortment. The weather turned terribly chilly overnight, and because snow was predicted the next day, we asked if we could cut our stay a day short and get out prior to the bad weather. Again, we were accommodated willingly and helpfully. Breakfast was terrific, and we were able to beat the bad weather out of town. There were no problems with our bill, including refunding money for the extra day and we will certainly return when we find ourselves near Charleston in the future. Thank you, 20 S.
