"Memorable stay in historic home in quiet part of Charleston"

10.0

Historic property in beautiful, quiet location across from park along Charleston River. Staff was welcoming and very professional. In rear of property there is a very nice garden area with tables and seating to relax. Easy 15-20 min. walk into central business district. You are in the center of historic Charleston with so many classic private homes where walks will fill you with awe and enjoyment. Breakfast was very good with choices of baked items from an exceptional local bakery along with fresh fruit or yogurt; coffee and juice--all served to you in the exquisite dining room. Don't miss sitting out on the large front porch. We liked our room on the second floor of the Carriage House which is in the rear of the property. Room was spotlessly clean and well equipped with toiletry items, terry cloth robes and complimentary bottled water.

Can't think of a thing.

"The Inn has great potential, and in an amazing area."

6.0

Minimal breakfast, but served well.

A typical breakfast made on site. Easy access to hot water for tea. It is not quite ready for guest. Beautiful Inn, work still in progress with renovations going on Under whel

"Great location but with string attached to it"

5.0

Great location near to Latin Quarter, French Quarter and particularly Church Street one of the most significant location for preservation of old original houses. Battery is also water front on a pretty historical park.

The property so called carriage house is separate from the main house in a sort of B section. Not too well maintained in the exterior. Also the so called cafeteria and guest area is not ready but still under construction. The main house is interesting and impressive with antiques and all but with access limitation for carriage house guests that pay a bit of money too. No elevator nor 3-4 star amenities as expected at this price.

Just as beautiful as the photos and the location is absolutely perfect and felt very safe. Very walkable to just about everything including restaurants, shops, water, French Quarter etc. Would definitely stay here again!

"Lovely old mansionโ€ฆ"

9.0

We were late in arriving for check-in but Ryan couldnโ€™t have been nicer. He texted with me several times with arrival instructions that were clear and helpful. We stayed in the former wine cellar room. It was extremely clean. The king bed was comfortable as were the pillows. They give you a step stool to use to get into it because itโ€™s high! There are no windows but that suited us fine as we were only staying there to sleep for a night. The bathroom was spacious. Shower hot with decent pressure. You choose two items and a beverage from a basic breakfast menu along with desired time to eat on a card. You then hang the card on the outside of your door and they arrange for what you ordered to be had either delivered to your room or in the dining area. We chose to eat in the dining room and it was lovely. My husband and I had a cinnamon bun, which wasnโ€™t that great. It was dry and tasted a few days old. He also chose fresh fruit and peach tea. I had the rice pudding which was good. My son chose a blueberry scone, which of course is dry by nature and the French yogurt (Oui brand) with granola. Other choices included quiche and a ham & cheese croissant sandwich. Itโ€™s a beautiful old mansion and I wish we couldโ€™ve stayed longer. Free street parking across the street.

We needed to use the pull out couch but unfortunately there were no additional blankets available in the room. Because we arrived after normal check-in (after 8pm) the desk was closed. I didnโ€™t feel it warranted an โ€œemergencyโ€ call to the on-call manager. We just turned the heat up in the room. The breakfast could be better.
