The Approach Hotel

Centralized registration located quite a distance from the actual hotel. Only hotel on the mountain so no competition. Very basic hotel at very premium pricing. Very noisy and not a place for families. As the only hotel there I wanted to try it but will not be returning. Says it has been recently renovated but I seen no evidence of any upgrades. Overall quite disappointing for the price paid.

Check-in time was 5 p.m., and I got the room by 7.30 p.m. after calling reception 6 times because the room was not ready due to a shortage of housekeeping staff, and the front desk didn't have an ETA for the room. On the other hand, they also provided a coupon for two pizzas and non-alcoholic drinks for the competition. Room has insufficient light, no refrigerator and microwave. Around 8.10 a.m., the fire alarm went off, and we discovered some smoke near the next rooms. No one at the front desk informed us of this, despite the fact that the alarm had been lined for 10 minutes before we left the room. We were all waiting outside without any notification. We left the property because no one from the resort could assist us.

Dirty, no staff,

The bed was terrible and worn out could feel the mattress springs. Room was really dark needed more lighting. Was dark dingy felt like I was staying at a no tell motel vs a ski resort.

My wife and I are well travelled, have a lot of experience sleeping from 1 star to 5 star . The good: super close to the ski chairs and main ticket office. The not so good: we had only one small night stand light by the bed for the whole room, good for romantic evening but not enough when you're looking for your things in the backpack. The parking lot has huge watery holes, we felt like driving in an all terrain track. Minus for Expedia: we got no message for the main check-in by the bridge, so we first drove to our inn then a good samaritan told us to go back to the bridge where the reception is.

It was just fine. Really confusing on where to check in, and then where to park, and where your room was. The elevator was broken, so you had to carry your stuff from down in the parking lot, up the road to the hotel, then up to your room. The ice machine that was supposed to be there was gone.
