Varied menu choice catering for all tastes, staff were lovely throughout, location could not have been better

Couldn’t override air conditioning which was noisy and constant throughout the night. There was an insect in the bathroom. Apart from that bed was large and comfortable.

Beautiful resturant and lovely staff. We chose the two course for £19.95 lunch menu which was good value for money. My husband took the bubble prawns which were really well cooked and had a beautiful dip. I took the Cullen tart which tasted great but was a bit Luke warm in the middle. My husband took the prawn risotto with crispy seaweed which was lovely and I took the crispy sea bass with gnocchi which was excellent. We both shared a chocolate torte with orange sorbet which was really tasty too. We would definitely return and have this lunch again.

I took my wife for the Mother’s Day Tea, booking in advance. She is Gluten Free. While she was not served any gluten, the fare she did get was unfortunately not at all good and was mostly stale. She indicated that the quiche, the lemon tart, carrot cake, and the brownie were simply "ok". The rest of the tea was quite stale. She commented that the scone was more like a stale shortbread than a scone, the sandwich bread was dried out, and the white cake (which I can confirm as she gave me a bit to try) was dry and crumbling. I initially contacted the restaurant to share my feedback rather than post a review, but after two weeks with no response at all, I feel it is now time to share. We know from experience over the years that gluten free can be a challenge for restaurants, though stale is not generally one we see. My wife did not comment to staff at the restaurant as she didn’t want to ruin Mother’s Day, so she only shared her experience with me and asked that I not say anything to the staff during our tea. Other than that, our hostess was excellent, and our server was tremendously polite. In a time where austerity is real and people are looking for places to go and enjoy themselves, economically I cannot in good conscience recommend Tigerlily if you are coeliac or gluten free. You will not get what you are looking for. There are much better options in Edinburgh for a similar price.

From checking in to leaving we had a fabulous time at this hotel, all the staff went above and beyond in catering for our needs. The service at the bars and restaurants was exceptional! Special thanks to Kathryn in the restaurant, she was so helpful! Martin was also fantastic serving us at breakfast! Nothing was too much trouble! Thanks again everyone, we will definitely come back soon.

Good location for where we wanted to stay it’s nice and vibrant with colour makes you happy.

The door handle in our bathroom was broken and taped up and the door didn’t stay closed as the hinge was broken also so we had to lock the door every time you went also sleep with the bathroom door open all night which isn’t something I liked.
